Windshield Wiper Question
Well I got 30k miles on the car and it looks like the windshield wipers need new blades as they arent working well.
Im gonna go to walmart tomorrow to get a pair of blades, and I want to know what brand and size I need.
Also how do I put them on, does it show how in the manual? Thanks guys in advance.

the book near the blades easily tell you... i think one is 20" and the other is 18"....
if you buy them at straus or autozone they may come with fre installation...
if you want to diy, its VERY easy no tools needed

If you do a search here, you'll find a couple of threads about wipers (Bosch Micro Edge Excel, silblade, Anco, trico, rainx, etc).
I'm gonna do my 30K maint. myself, so I've been looking up alot of stuff lately about filters and wiper blades
Does anyone know who the OEM supplier for Acura wiper blades is ??

just go to sillblades.com buy a set for 50 shipped, and they are quite easy to put on.. i put the aluminum colored ones on my car and they look cool. they ask you for your make and model so you dont need to know the exact sizes. we've gotten alot of rain in the past week and they've been doing a much better job than the stocks.
I have the Bosch Micro Edge and they are 10x better than stock. The blades come with instructions. Also, you should easliy be able to tell how to install them just by looking closely at the blads. I wouldn't go to Wal-Mart. Last time I checked they didn't really have anything special. Go to Autozone or another auto parts store.

I just installed PIAA silicone blades last week.
I debated between going with OEM, vs Silblades, vs PIAA.
I didn't consider the other rubber blades available in stores (like Anco, Bosch...). IMHO, OEM rubber > Autozone rubber.
I read a lot online as usual. The concept of a long lasting siliconized rubber blade piqued my curiosity. Typically I would have gone with OEM (like I just replaced on the Subaru), but when I tried to buy OEM online, they were so cheap that the vendor was unwilling to fill the order unless I bought like 10 of them. I was too lazy to stop by a local store or dealership, so it seemed like the time was ripe to try a silicone blade.
I read about fitment problems with aftermarket blades into OEM frames -- seems like the blade needs to move around a bit within the frame so contact with the glass is maintained.
I was going to get silblades, but read a couple posts about the frame (not the blade) being a bit cheaply made (I read this on some other car forum).
I went with PIAA because the posts are more consistent then silblades -- quality frame and quality blade. I've had them on now for a week and they work great. Since they are siliconized rubber, I'll expect them to at least last as long as the OEMs which gave me about 3 years of usefulness.
After a bit of shopping around I purchased from www.performanceproducts.com They were the cheapest of all the online vendors when you include the shipping price.
Here's the actual link -- PerformanceProducts is having a bit of a sale on the PIAA wipers.

?? 3 years with an OEM rubber blade? I was interested in your post but now I don't know. I find rubber and OEM blades last at Most 6 months, tops, before you start seeing at least minor streaks and wear, if not major streaks.
Keep reading I guess.. 3 years??

it just monsooned here in maryland and it made me realize i need wipers too!
so i called the dealer and they said the sizes were:
475mm - Passenger
600mm - Driver
They also sell just the blades for ~$5-8.
$19 for the passenger blade and arm.
$25 for the driver blade and arm.
I went to walmart last night and found the Rain-x ones but no book. So i didn't buy them.
the rain-x ones were about $9/piece for the arm and blade.
hope this info helps.
also can someone translate the mm into the 2 digit sizes.
thanks.

I've had my PIAA wipers on for a year now, I have absolutely no problems with them. I have had no streaks or problems. I went through OEM wiper blades in about 15months, although I do spend a lot of time in my car. I just figured it out and I average 78miles a day since the day I bought the car.
