You should check with your car insurance company. My buddie's 330ci windshield got hit with a rock, and he was responsible for the deductible. They (State Farm) took care of the rest.

Insurance item. Check your policy. In FL if you need to replace a windshield it's free with the insurance. No out of pocket, & it doesn't go against you. I think it's one of those FL laws. ALso if you insurance has glass coverage you would be covered too.

As much as I feel your pain, I doubt there is much Acura will do for you. Rocks hitting windshields are a part of life. Trust me, I know living in the Chicago area.

Good luck, and let me know what you find out.

Just because you have a $500.00 deductible, don't assume that applies to everything! I have that deductible, too, but my co-pay on a new windshield is $50.00. (thats all). Call and find out.

I had a cracked windshield from a rock and the insurance covered every bit. All I had to pay was the $50 comprehensive deductable. A while back I was gonna raise it to $100 but the insurance would only have been 10 dollars cheaper a year! Well worth it IMO...

This is correct. Since this is a safety issue, there are State laws that require insurance carriers to have free replacement (low or no cost deductible) for glass. Also glass replacement if it does have a deductible should not be the same as the other deductibles (comp and coll).

I can get a new windshield every 6 weeks if I have to. No charge, no increase in insurance.

In state like MN where they use salt on the road, after several years you can see out the windshield because it is full of shiny stars and glimmers from all the etching and scraping. You almost needed a new windshield every other year.

Some car insurance policies offer a $0 deductible on glass. I have this through Progressive and it only cost a few dollars a year.

if there is a crack anywhere within the crack, its not warranty, if the crack is free of any chips in it, show it to the dealer
