Window tinting kit + tints = 70 bux

http://www.doityourselftint.com/

Whaddaya guys tink?

BTW.. The place that quoted me 130 for tinting screwed me over! They switched and said, "well because it's an Acura it's going to cost 170 bux. We wouldn't even touch an acura for 130."

My reply...
"Its a honda, do you charge your honda's 170 too for 5 windows?"
So I left.

i was quoted 220 for 5 windows at 3 different shops, so feel lucky. But the fact that he changed the price based on the fact it was an acura is nonsense

Have you ever tinted windows before..?!? Trust me, leave it to the professionals. I had mine done for $170 so that price is average to reasonable..

Got mine done for $110 and trust me as others have said Leave it to the guys that know what their doing. Our car is more difficult than normal because of the dot matrix and tinting behind the third brakelight.

$110 cash for 20% on 5 windows. Offer the guy a cash deal, they usually are more flexible in that situation

The guy won't do 3rd brake light tint unless it take out the rear panel. He also wants to go around the dot matrix saying that he doesn't like it cuz it don't stick as well.

Run away from that guy because he doesn't know what he is doing

My tinter didn't have to remove the rear deck he just slide the tint in behind the light and then smoothed it out. Also a good tinter should have no problems with the dot matrix

It's not worth the effort and it most likely will come out looking like crap. I tried doing it myself once back in HS, and it was a disaster

I did the same in HS and vowed to NEVER try it again or let a friend try.. Not worth the hassle at all.. It's like a art form.

The dot matrix is normally covered by vinyl.. And just for possible legal/cop troubles I had him cut around the brake light..

For real, leave that stuff to the professionals. Get a guarantee so if they mess up they will fix it free of charge. I got 3M lifetime guarantee tint, cost me like 200 bucks or so.

tinting is an ARTFORM, dont fuck around with those ghetto kits, it will look like absolute shit unless youve done it TONS of times. theres only one guy i go to to tint all my cars, hes not the cheapest, but ill GIVE my car to anyone that can find a bubble in my tint.

point being, its worth it to spend the money and have it done by a professional. you see ghetto hoopties rollin around all the time with horrible bubbled up and peeling tint. guess who did the tint jobs? the owners......

dont let your CL-S be a ghetto hooptie

pay for a pro

If you've never ever seen it done or at least tinted a car yourself then don't do it. I've tinted a couple cars back when I was in HS, takes patience and a nice gameplan. But don't doubt your own skills, some people are just scared to do stuff themselves for fear of fucking up.

I did my jeep myself years ago. It was a pain, but it turned out very nice. The only thing is jeeps are pretty easy.

I'd get a pro to do the CL. If anything, do it for the lifetime warrenty.
