Will this work in the CL-S

I know this should be in the A/V post but it's dead over there.

I am considering installing two 10 subs to my car. I recently saw some pics of two 10 and the dam box take up a lot of trunk space.
So, I have considered to follow through with my original plan of adding subs but now I am tthinking of two 8 JL W0 or W1 the box does not seem to be that big. Will the 8 produce enough base for the CL-S or will it get muffled by all the insulation.

All opinions and advise welcome.

Use a single 10" or 12" kicker solobaric. You can mount a 10 squre driver in areound ! cubic foot. I am having a custom fibreglass enclosure in the rear right quarter. The whole sub box will weigh in at around 25lbs with the speaker. about a third of MDF.

How much bass are you looking for? To be honest 1 sub was not enough for me. Then again the sub I chose it for SQ. What kind of budget are you on, and how much space are you willing to give up? I recommend you get 1 Image Dynamics IDQ v.2. The thing I like about these subs is they fit in very small boxes, and sound excellent. You can find them for about $120 which isnt bad at all.

Budget is between 275 to 350 for the subs and box. I already have an Hafler amp and Kenwood crossover. I just want to have nice tight and punch bass. NO boomy crap or to be heard to blocks down the road.

Again, you dont think that the two 8 subs will do the job to create the tight bass in our cl-s.

Or what box out there will work in our car with out losing to much trunk space.

haha when you're talking that small... i don't even think it's worth buying. 10 inch subs should be as small as they get. however i think that two 12 inch subs are ideal. just my $0.02

I would have to agree with CHRIS on this one...I dont feel 8" can easily give you the low end extension you need to over come road and wind noise....I have had all kinds of sub config.'s in previous cars and honestly for my tastes (anything from jazz to trance) two tens would be minimal....especially with a kenwood and hafler amp. They are good amps but not the ballsiest out there. My 2 cents woudl be to go with a pair of JL 10w1 in a custom box...why not have the box built out of thinner wood(less weight) and have it fiberglassed inside!?! (no air leaks and rigid as hell). toss it around I think it will work well.

Look into 10" Infinity Perfects, I think the recommedned sealed box size for them is 1 cubic foot. I was about to get 2 10s in a custom fiberglassed box too, but I don't know if I want to throw more any money into my car after my tranny started giving me problems.

Where's the cheapest place I'd find Perfects online? And hopefully from some reputable place that people here have had good experiences with. Thanks.

Would a Punch 800 be a good match for 2 10" Perfects?
