I knew they were Lexus IS wheels, but I guess I am not too familiar with wheel/tire details to understand why I cant fit them on my CL ...

I mean 17X7, 5 lugs, no center caps (that means it wont have the Lexus L on it .. ) I dont really understand why not. Is it cuz the offset is too low?

I could be wrong... BUT...

The Lexus GS has offsets very different from ours. (Its a RWD car) And they wont fit.

So Im assuming the IS is the same way.

Do this... drive over to your local Lexus dealer late one night... and try on some IS wheels.

Good point about the RWD .. that is something I understand

No Lexus or Acura within 80 miles of me

I don't think FWD vs RWD has anything to do with it but I'm not totally sure.

The Acura and Lexus likely have different bolt pattern dimensions.

For example, my 98 ZX2 has a 4x100mm bolt pattern. The Ford ZX3 has a 4x108mm bolt pattern so we cannot share wheels.

You can find out how to measure the bolt pattern at The Wheel Rack.

FWD vs. RWD has a very large influence on offset.

Notice how most RWD cars can share the same wheels? And most FWD cars share the same?

Soopa, you are refering to the offset, that is what usually distinguishes a RWD wheel from a FWD wheel, bolt pattern is also a factor but FWD and RWD can have same bolt pattern and wrong offset.....As a rule, the RWD wheel will jut out from under the wheelhouse if mounted on a FWD as it has insufficient backspace (negative offset)

Nabster- since you have a CL-P, I forgot what the allowed offset range was for the CLP, but I think someone from Cali put some nice wheels on a CL-P, and if I remember he had a very low offset for the aftermarket wheels, with no rubbing. (I could be wrong). Someone clarify. If you an have a lower offset, I think you can have some better options in terms of getting wheels!

The CL-P should be harder to find wheels for.

I know it was damn harder to find wheels for my TL then the CLS.
