will i need new shocks??

hey guys. i finally broke down decided to lower my car. i just bought some H&R springs 1.75 front and 1.5 in the back. i was wondering if i should get new shocks because one of my friends told me that i should with the new springs. Are the H&R's good springs?? what type of shocks are good for our car's that wont ruin the nice comfy ride? btw i just got some new tires the Kumho Escta ASX i think. 235/45/17 ......i hope those tires are good. I also read that the Pirelli's Pzero Nero were discontinued but when i called tirerack he told me that there i would have to wait 30-60 days. I wanted those tires bad but oh well. next time.

You don't really need them right away. Your stock ones will be fine until after 50,000 miles with the new springs. If you think you will want them later as a handling upgrade then you should do it now to save yourself the hassle/cost of getting them installed again later.

I was planning to get H&R sport springs as well. I have 45k on my stock shocks with stock springs will i be able to use them for another 15-20 k miles if i get the springs? Installation will be done by me so I'm not worried aout installation costs but I just can't afford struts right now but i should next year. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

my stock right rear shock failed at 48k, about 7.5k after installing comptech springs. get new shocks if you can at the same time. i replaced the shocks soon after the failure with adjustable konis.

Just as others have said, do it now to save install time/costs.

omg i just did a search on springs and shocks....IM MORE CONFUSED. anyhow, now im worried about camber issues. the more i read on how this drop is goin to go the more i realize that i will need cambers. I do know i will need to replace my shocks since im already at 48k( i drive like a chimpanze in heat) but this is southern california and i need to drive to places. Now i have to decide if i want the tokicos or koni's. I really dont want the ride to suffer but i think it is inevitable considering the drop. I did a search on ebay for the tokico blues i think and they are selling for 270. that will probably be my best bet. anyone have pics of a the H&R sport drop? not the OE sport drop. 1.75 fronts and 1.5 in back.
