I currently have an 01 CL-P and am looking to step into something else for 22k or under. I found a CLS 6 speed with about 35k miles for 22,500. Good deal? Do the 6 speeds have the infamous tranny problems or is that just the auto's? Do all CLs now have the 7yr/100,000 mile warranty on the transmission?

That brings me to my second question: My CL-P (with 37k miles) is starting to whir (sounds a bit like a turbo winding up) a little bit when accelerating...never noticed it before a week or two ago. Is my transmission trying to tell me something? If so will the dealership give any problems in replacing it? The only maintenance I have had done so far is oil change every 3000 miles.

You should be able to find an 03 for less especially w/that mileage.

The 2700 club doesn't suffer from Tranny problems, and there is no 7yr/100k warranty on the 6m.
