I think another member on here has tried that grill before. Hopefully they will see this thread and be able to shine some more light on it for you.

It didn't fit my carbon fiber hood, but I heard it fits a regular hood. I have it sitting around because I no longer need it.. anyone want it for real cheap? It's brand new.

Not bad looking. It doesnt flex at all because you are missing that center support does it?

its really ridge and well built. i still have the black primer on it and for the last 500 miles of high speed, rock chips, horrible chicago roads, the grill is holding up great.

It's a great grill. I have the same one from the same people but first gen. Looks great and is light and durable

It says some modification necessary but mine screwed right in. I think you only have to drill holes if you have a CF hood. Should fit perfect with oem hood.

i have this grill sitting in my garage. quality is pretty good bt there is a fitment issue. there is like a very noticeable gap on the top and side corners of the grill. i'll post pictures of it installed in my car so you could see what im talking about.

i also have a gap on the top of the grill, but not noticeable unless u look at if from 3ft away. i can always put some washers under the screws that are on the grill, but it doesnt bother me. theirs gonna be a difference between cf hood and oem hood. i got cf and thats what mine looks like

Alot of the links to the DIY are not working anymore but i think a guy named silverknight posted the DIY back in 2001 and knew nuttin about cars back then and smoked alot of erb and still was able to make a real nice one, The guy at the body shop actull;y asked me where he can buy one and he didnt belive I made it!
I went to home depot bought gutter guard, took my grill of and apart cut the gutter guard the sape of the grill snapped the grill back together with the gutter guard in between and BINGO got a nice custom made grill that looked BETTER then that one on E-bay, looks like they used cheap gutter guard I got the good STUFF!

u can do that, but you will still have the wings and the center piece. if u want to get rid of those, you have to get into body work and then put the mesh, paint and what not. more work than is needed, i did it on my tl, it sucked

That's Dremeled out?

How did you clean it up?

i dremeled it out. then fiber glassed the big holes, and bondoed the holes and the chrome trim to the grill. hold up just great. but it has to rock chips in it, (damn roads)

Well it came out great.

Yeah that's what I don't know how to do...fiber glass.

If I had the space to experiment...I could probably figure it out.
