Why does AEM have different CAI for our cars?

I was wondering why AEM has different ones for our car (not including the v2).

Is it different bends?
If I were to buy an AEM CAI for Type-s (AT) will it fit my MT?
Could I make it fit?

I suppose you could make it fit if you got a long enough silicone coupler to compensate for the length of the VSA unit.

I think you need a 6 inch extension right before the TB.

none type-S and type-S have different size tubing as well if I remember correctly. I think the non type-S is 2.75" and the type-S has 3" tubing. The intakes are also specific to which transmission you have. Personally, I'd just go with the one you know will fit your car instead of buying a different one and finding out later on you should've just went with the right size anyway. Your other option would be the Comptech Icebox (better gains, less noise, looks stock). I had an AEM and now I have the Icebox. Personally, I miss the sound of the AEM and the extra space under the hood (definitely makes it easier to change the headlight bulbs). However, it no longer looks like every car w/ an intake under the hood.

To answer the original question, i'm pretty sure that the auto intake and the manual intake have different tubing lengths before the bend. You're better off just getting the one for the manual.

Yep thats pretty much it

Oh and dont worry about your AEM intake, it still has a good home to call its own

I tried putting my old CL-P AEM V2 on my 03 CL-S 6M - the throttle diameter on the 6m is substantially larger. It does not match up - the coupler included does not work - nor does the vac line connectors.
