See what I mean ? People like you cant wait to get on here and shoot shots. I guess by your 1000 + posts, you consider yourself an expert. Unlike you, this is not what I spend all day doing. Instead, I'm trying to better myself in life and build up the car that I love. Not pick fights with others who are making orgress beyond my abilities. Thats called "haterism."
Again, based on your attitude and others like it, I choose to offer info to those whom are interested via private message and not start another useless thread.
I hate to give you the tough love but, No, no one sees what you mean. Your acting less than your age. I just told you to MAN UP and stop taking people questioning the figures you posted in a "who wants custom cams thread" so personally. There were 5 responses with people just showing you what we have seen here at those boost levels. That was all they said. Someone even acknowledged that you were on the J30A1 motor and an auto. What was so offensive? I AM NO EXPERT! I AM NOT TRYING TO START A FIGHT WITH YOU! I am not special nor do I think I am. Where do you get the idea that if you started a thread about your turbo set up that it would be useless? I for one assure you we all want to see and hear what you are doing. My curiosity is piqued! No one is attacking you bro! Read that again. <-- If you got the goods I am probably one of the people who are going to buy it, especially if the price is that good. You are being super super sensitive and defensive. Calm down. Attacking the number of post I have is pretty lame. I have been here for just over 5 years, the length of time I have owned my car. Many members here have 30000+ post and it is my opinion that that only shows the level of passion and commitment many of the members here have. One guy has 100000+. These are the people you want on your team and to be talking to. Please don’t act immature. I said don't act, not that you are. We love our cars too. This forum is full of people who know way more than you and I ever will and If you got what you got please show us and the praise will follow. No fights, just automotive enthusiasm and madness my friend. Like I said before, I encourage you to start a thread with some pics and info on what you are doing and then see what happens. I am sure you will get tons of helpful info, excitement, and input from other members experiences. You and I might learn something. I do every time I get on here. This is the best Acura forum I have found. As with everything you do in life, not everyone is going to believe what you say or agree with you. You must brush what those people say off if you don't like it and reap the satisfaction of showing them up with results. You might just walk away with some new friends.
Regards, Jim
settle down guys. I can see both sides here.
Jim, there's tough love but there's also speaking the truth w/kindness.
Alex, things got off on the wrong foot. Start a thread if for the benefit of the community and the mods will keep a close eye on it.

i went and got quotes on installation and i recall it being very expensive. ~$600 but i can't remember exactly. they also wanted ~$500 or so for the cams. i just could not bring my self to pay for an installation that might not give any gains and also might cost even more money swapping back to stock.
i would try doing this DIY but i would want someone with me that has more knowledge of the engine. however i could probably tackle it with a step by step service manual.

Now for something new.....
This will be a conversion of a J32A2 to a 3.7L engine, the build is for NA only no boost or bottles on this one ever due to the fact that to achieve the 3.7L displacement the cylinders will be bored out 1mm from the stock 89mm to 90mm which is the service limit of the block according to honda, this will remove .5mm of the 3mm thick steel sleeves in the block and although perfectly fine for NA I would not put boost on it. Parts are a combination of J37 from the 07 MDX and J32 from the CL-S. Exhaust valve sprngs are being replaced with those from the 05 TL-S, these springs a stronger than the stock CL-S springs and will help prevent valve float in the event of a mis-shift and over-rev.
Final engine specs.
Bore 90mm
Stroke 96mm
Compression 11:1
Crank, rods, pistons and cams are factory honda forged.
Removing the engine and breaking it down....

The J37 crank has a 10mm shorter nose, using a piece cut from the old crank I have made a spacer to make up the difference, this makes for a very tight and strong fit, especially with replacing the stock grade 8.8 crank bolt with a longer grade 10.9 bolt.

The block is at the machine shop and should be ready for pickup tomorrow afternoon, so stay tunned for build updates and pics over the weekend.

you are going to ride the life of your entire motor (and probably ride the motor hard) on a 'spacer'? no thanks.
a test set of cams came and went, and didn't go as planned. going back to drawing board. it's not dead yet.

not my motor so i dont care, but im interested in seeing how long it runs and how it performs...id like to see a good set of custom cams in production
good to hear that it's not dead. is there and eta? and what happened with the tester?
To really do this right, you should start with a set of uncut cam cores. Unfortunately, they are impossible to acquire.
