I might consider a set after the results. So who's the fabricator? Jones Cams?

As far as J30A1 they will fit right in with no valvetrain changes needed as the redline is 6250rpm and stock springs shoulbe be fine. The issue however, is to handle the timing with this swap and tuning is needed to realize the gain. Also I believe as mentioned, only 98-99 needed REAR cam machining and so far were handled by 'gme2001' on AV6 board.

that's right we only need one of the cams machined not both. I remember now cause Cocoa said he had got the wrong one machined. As far as tuning what all would be needed. Would just a Unichip work or would I also need MSD ignition, and a VAFC? I'm pretty new to this if you can't tell.

I just wanted to let everyone know that I'm willing to be a guinea pig for this experiment. So if anyone knows a dyno shop in the Tampa area, and if anyone wants to help me with the tuning stuff I mentioned above that be great. I'm thinking I'd like to get all the necessary tuning equipment and get the engine tuned before the cams and then install the cams then retune them. Currently I just have AEM V2 and Magnaflow catback exhaust but I've had some XS headers sitting in my house for a while now and I should hopefully be getting them installed this week.

OK guys, i have a small but important update. I began researching camshaft specific companies that would be an options for us. I feel in order to keep costs down we need to find a smaller location and avoid larger manufacturers. This is my first time attempt to 'create' a new product of this scale, so I approached Josh at Excelerate. I felt his experience would only benefit the group buy. In a nutshell, he is going to help me out with this buy. Please understand I approached him about this and I felt it would encourage people to join the group buy if an already established vendor on the boards distributed the product.

I am going to be one of the test subjects for this. I will be purchasing cores, doing a before dyno, Josh will install, and then I will have an after dyno. Both dynos and install will be done the same day. Also please understand I am not making money off of this at all. All of the above is cost out of my pocket for the sake of performance.

In the next week or two we will start pushing manufacturers and companies. I can't make any promises at the moment, but I will guess that we should have a more definite answer by early to mid august. But please continue to show support if you haven't already. So far we have close to 60 people interested.

both will be a min of 900 each and will have to be custom made but if you are going to take the motor apart to do that, you might as well swap out the sleeves. Don't think you need all that for a supercharger though.

I was actually responding because I have a motor currently being built so that was the reason for my response and the reason for saying back to the topic is because I didn't want to go off topic because this was originally about cams, make sense? Think you took it the wrong way.

Alright I just got my tranny cooler and headers installed and I guess my next move is UR crank pulley and then custom cams/unichip so I was checking to see what else you've learned since the last time. I know you've been busy with your 3.5 swap and I don't want you to think I'm rushing you but I'm just wondering if you got any info. I'll take anything you got just to wet my appetite.

Well I don't think this is the first mod you should do. I think I/H/E/P should be done first and then cams inconjunction with VAFC so a CL-s with I/H/E/P would probably give others a better idea of what people would be getting with this mod.

it's true that most of the people buying these cams will more than likely be modded. and it's also true that you will see better gains when slightly modded. but we don't want to have any false representations. i have a 3.5 stroker. for argument sake, if my application shows a 25 whp and a bone stock cl-s shows 15 whp, we don't want to say it will give 25 whp.

i'll be the first probably to test fitment and all that stuff. once we know everything is good, we will take it from there.

So does everyone else. But everyone is gonna wait patiently. I just ordered the crank pulley for the 3.0 and hopefully I'll be getting it by Fri but that seems unlikely, but if so I'm gonna try to get it installed this weekend. Then who nows I may splurge and get coilovers since my car will be too fast for my stock suspension to handle adequately. Also my grounding kit should be coming in this week or next and that is supposed to help also.

Well I've done catback exhaust, headers, and intake. Now hopefully the pulley this weekend. I started doing all this at the end of May so only three months. So I guess I'll be doing one mod a month. Anything exciting yet CleanCL?

the cams are on order right now through my supplier, as soon as i get them in, they go straight out to the company to get worked on. my set are going to be RL spec specific bc of my 3.5 and clearance issue. but i believe any other j32 can get a more aggressive cam across the board.

would that mean the J30 also along with the j32? What is this clearance issue you speak of? Wouldn't you have more clearance since you're 3.5 now and not 3.2? Can you explain your situation alittle more and why it's different than the j32/j30. Again for the record I have a 3.0CL, maybe someday in the future I'll do a j32a2 swap but no time soon.
