Yeah but then we're all more broker after the holidays so no ones gonna jump on it then. If we do it now it would be like a present that I bought for myself!

we still have some pretty thorough testing. we want to make sure these are going to put out some good gains and at the same time be practical to have on a daily driver. before/after dynos are going to be crucial, i'm trying my best to get them done under similiar conditions.

Yeah I'm just busting your balls!! I'm in no rush at all, I should hopefully get my rims and drop done this weekend and then I don't have any real plans except for this install and looking into doing a J32a2 swap. No rush, you're doing alot for everybody and I really appreciate it! But I still want to be second to install this after you in whatever engine I have at the time.

What company did you end up using to make the cams? I want to hear everything thing about this process (I feel sorta responsible), I hate being left in the dark.

Yeah I've wanted to ask but I didn't want to bother him since he's got that thing going on with his tranny right now. I did pick up a VAFC from a friend for $100 so I just need to get that installed and I'm good to go. Just waitin on the cams!

They'll probably run about 350-500 dollars...but there will be a nice jump in power and torque. For the people running S/C'ers, Turbos, and 3.5 strokers, this will be a great add-on.

sorry i havent updated anyone in awhile. between my transmission going in early january and work, i have just been completely consumed. the acura has sort of taken a back seat at the moment as i'm pretty much busy mon-fri and have no time for anything else. but i'm purchasing a second vehicle which will allow me to bring the CL into for the cam install. hopefully it will be done sometime late this month or possibly next.

Hey Clean I just wanted to check up on the status of this. I'd like to know if the Cams have been crafted at least? Do you have them and you're just waiting to get free time to install them or are you still waiting on the company to craft them? I (danielsmi) got my VAFC installed and I'm just waiting on the cams now.

i have the physical cams in hand, but i started new work and things are crazy. also for my case bc of the 3.5 and extra power, it is def recommended i tune, so i had to purchase a tuner, so my costs have gone up, i got all the new gaskets/belts/seals/bolts, so now i just need to budget the cost for dyno/install/tune/dyno, since i'm the test dummy, we want to see what the gains are going to be. obviously all these costs are out of pocket, and i kind of hit a stand still at the moment on the budget, so things are on hold for now, i'm sorry to hold you guys up, but if you want to do your own test, contact josh (excelerate) and he will guide you in the right direction.

Cocoa I thought you had a J35 from the Odyssey. If so I thought that the J35 cams won't fit the J32 engine which should mean that cams designed for the J32 shouldn't fit the J35 right? Since they found that the RL cams didn't fit in the J32 in this thread. What's this with the cams not having the notch, I thought this wanna gonna be designed to work with all the J-series engines!! This is very disheartening!! Explain more please. Josh hasn't responded to my PM yet.

If and when these custom cams come out for the J32 engines, this will mean that they can be machined to fit the J30 engines. In order for cams from a J32 to fit the J30, all you need to do is machine the rear cam so that it fits your distributor. All it really is, is a small cut at the end of the cam to make it fit on the distributor. I know of a shop you can ship them to, and they will do so for you. To machine the cam, will run you about $125. So no wrries, you can still go wtih these cams.

As for the Odyssey cams, it would be worthless to ever use those. They are 2 lobe cams, as opposes to the 3 lobes used on the J30 and J32 (correct me if I'm wrong someone).

And as for me, I have the J35 bottom end, and the J32A2 (type S) head.

OH true! then you're good to-go!! I thought you had to bore out the J32 to make it a 3.5 at least that's what I thought CleanCl did, I'm probably wrong though. Thanks for reminding me about the notching, I understand about not adding the notching cost to the cams since most of it's users won't need it. Then on the other hand I still don't want to ship it out and get it machined. The needs of the many far outweight the needs of the few, I guess!! If you could go ahead and send me the info about the company you metioned, that would be great, mmm Kay!! Ohh, and I'm gonna need you to go ahead and come in on Sunday!! We lost a few people and we kinda gotta play catch up, MMM Kay!! THAAAANKS!!

That doesn't matter, as long as you have the V6 which is the J30 engine, you can use this. I also have a 1st Gen CL.

One of the main purposes of these cams is to provide the most gain without requiring new valves and springs cause those can be very costly especially installation. So these cams shouldn't require new valves and springs.
