Only a fool would not understand TVM. Or the benefit of tax write offs.
If you write it off for a buisness, that may be a different thing, but for a personal tax payer, interest payments, especially consumer debt, is a bad idea for wealth building.

Take that 450.00 a month and buy something "yourself" and learn how to appreciate life on your own ! It will ONLY help you to be a better person !
Be thankful to have parents who care for you ! We often take to much for granted !

i was appreciating my cl...
i paid 17 grand u.s. of it myself, the rest my mom...
17 grand u.s. is not a little amount of money... i still do appreciate it.
I work a lot with my parents so even when my mom pays it, it feels like I did...same with my dad, he borrows cash off me all the time, from the money i make myself, and sometimes doesnt pay back..i dont really care, its all good for me...cause whatever is mine is his...and vice versa...
me and my bro grew up sharing our whole lives together, my bro is 14 and he is always asking me for money, i always give, never expect to be paid back either...i sometimes borrow stuff from him etc...
it might be hard to understand, though my lifestyle with family is really different...nobody here keeps financial records of eachother.

Well I guess some of us are poor folks driving ACURA cars.
I have a 2000TL & sure that monthly auto loan payment would look good in my pocket. I could have paid for the car in full with trade-in but needed the extra cash to use around house. I have purchased two other brand new HONDA ACCORDs in the 90s & piad them off.

put $500 down. purchased the car in feb. 2001 for 25700. owe $14,000 now. some of us have other responsiblities like mortgages. but i'm not saying anything against you guys who have paid your cars in full or cash either by your own money or with the help of your parents. in a way, i'm kinda envious...but in a way, too, i'm proud of myself that i can stand up on my own even if i have to pay 7% interest. sometimes we gotta do what we gotta do to get what we want!!

its like this, i went to the bank to deposit my monthly payment, and it was still there after a couple days. They didnt take the car payment i made. Guess what?
My mom paid it off for me as a gift. It was kind of like a surprise present. Yeah go ahead, I'l give you all the red carpet to walk on while flaming me.
So my mom paid 15 000 dollars for my car, and I paid the rest....
But before you go ahead and flame me, guess what, some business contacts I made for my moms company took her out of debt, I went to far lengths to get her business going for her.
I still dont have any good suggestions what to do with my extra 450 bucks a month!

I have a loan on the car because I want to. Low rate 6.9%; tied to the house so it is deductible and I used the cash for a better use (home improvement). So I have a good reason.
But really guys, it makes no one smarter or dumber or harderworking if they have a loan or not or they paid for the car themselves or got it as a gift, etc, etc. Are you really that shallow? I think not.

wow....
it amazes me how many of you guys have paid them off in full.
or even with parental help do it.
I consider my parents pretty well off and I don't they could simply write a check for 40k without doing a lot of re structuring first.
very impressive

I put 10K down
Been paying 3K monthly now for 4 months
I will most likely pay it off before the new year.
My goal is to own 100% of everything I have as quickly as possible. I pay alot monthly to my house as well. I HATE financing anything. I should have that paid off within 2 years.
I am not that suprised that alot of people have their cars paid off here. The more expensive a car is the more money the group of people have that purchase the car.

Began negotiating deal via computer, moved on to phone calls, and finally sealed the deal with my car being delivered on a flat bed truck without having even sat in car or driven! Thats how much confidence I had in Acura! Originally had been on because I want to build an Integra but when I saw the CL'S I was in Love Baby!!! I have video of Acura backing car off flatbed and pulling my baby up into driveway! No problems with car at 9000m!
