Who here has noticed that our mirrors

Are foldable horizontally
I sorta knew they were, but it still amazes me.

Not exactly M3/M5 style, which is foldable upwards, but
still kinda cool.

I must be a dolt.

When I bought the car the salesman showed me a lot about the car including the folding mirrors.

That was the first thing i looked at when the car came out! only because i had a first gen. they do not fold! i tore mine off while backing into a stall drunk! I was laughing if you can belive it. Broke off clean though. The folding mirrors come in handy when washing the car! they fold forward and backward!

Folding mirrors are something I notice cause i look for that. I'd rather repaint some scratches than have to buy a whole new mirror.

I wouldn't fold any mirror that doesn't have a button on the dash to fold them automagically, but that's just me. They may be meant to fold in case you hit them on something but I'm not sure if they're durable enough to be folded every day.

I fold mine when I park on a tight street, in Vancouver, there's a lot of cyclist that could smoke the mirror.

Our JDM counterparts get power folding mirrors... Those would be neat.

(BTW, wouldn't you notice this the first time you washed your car?)

Most (if not all?) imported Japanese cars have foldable mirrors. This way they can fit 'em tighter on the boat. So it's probably an influence from Honda. Even my 17+ yr old Toyota has 'em.
