I have.

You really need just a few items for a fairly painless experience

spring compressor
hydraulic floor jack
jack stands
torque wrench
BFP (big freak'n prybar)
Air compressor / guns (this isn't a must, but makes the job a snap.)
Various hand tools (wrenches, sockets..)

I've done several sets (4,) the last set (CLS) was at a dealership, after hours (really is nice to to have dealership mechanics for friends!!) It really is a lot easier on a lift, with air, and a wall mounted spring compressor. I'm getting too old to do this in my one car garage, with no air. YMMV.

HTH - Jim

PS - Don't forget the 4 wheel alignment.

I changed the struts on my old integra without a spring compressor or air tools, and it wasn't too bad.

U just jack up the car and put it on stands.
Then use the floor jack to compress the struts/shocks by lifting the struts up to relieve the spring tension.
Unbold the struts/shock and slowly lower it by releasing the floor jack.

The spring should be easy to change.

And yes u would need an alignment and the headlights adjusted if lowered.

The spring compressor is a must have when you lower a car. Air tools are nice. I've done several cars, although never a CL-s. Just my CL.

Did my CL-S, also put the koni's in at the same time. I'd recommend it, save yourself the hassle next year when your stock struts die.

Also, it takes some time, patience, and experience ... not for the newbie for sure ...

Just needed an extra hand with the rear control arm to install rear Koni's otherwise not bad. Did shocks, springs, and sways at same time. Good luck with your suspension mods. Also install the front upper strut bar as it really tightens up front end. Left my rear seat out for a month to dial in settings the way I wanted.

Spring compressor is definitely a good idea. My brother and I thought we didn't need one when we first tried installing springs and ended up cracking a garage door when the spring let loose. . . Scared the crap out of us. . . It will only take 1 time to learn . ..

Also; Helms manual shows how to properly align strut assembly before installing back into car.

If you only knew what you were talking about. I'd say at least half of the members on the TL board have Comptech springs with stock shocks and have had NO PROBLEMS, including me. I've had mine on for about 2 years now with no problems to the shocks. Stick to what you know....What's that again?

The Comptech springs were designed to work with the stock shocks. The drop is not enough to cause any more wear on the stock shocks than the stock springs would. But then you would know that wouldn't you?

Oh I guess I missed the part where he specified comptech springs ...

Are you harboring ill-will towards me for some reason?

There have been a number of people who have had to change their struts recently. It was a non-issue for me to buy the koni's, with all the money I saved with my bargain hunting, they were basically free ....

HAHAHAHHA...you use two rims...have one person place the tire against the back of impact wrench...and have him loosen the top bolt slowly...
