White paint on front bumper!!!

Looks like either my wife isn't being honest and tapped the bumper against the garage, or someone managed to get some white paint fron their car on my bumper. It's just to the left of the left road lamp (if looking at the car from the front).

Can this be removed? It looks like it's just sitting on the clear coat. What if anything would remove this????

Please help!

My friend has a 98 Maxima and grazed a parked car once, (well by now I'm sure more than once), But anyways we put Meguiars ScratchX on the front bumper and blam!!! It rmoved all the paint and scratches from the plastic. Not to mention it does an excellent job on the body also.

Any one of the brand name rubbing compounds should take care of it pretty easily. Make sure you read the directions carefully, and don't rub to hard. You can go over it a couple of times, but you can't put the OEM paint back on.

A good rub with a CLAY-BAR should get it off.

I was thinking along those lines too, but wasn't sure if it would be strong enough.

You guys have no idea how much you've all just made my day!!! If the local parts store is open when I get home tonight, I'll pick up something and give it a whirl.

Out of all the suggestions so far, which is the way to go???

Thanks everyone!!!

Well if you don't have any Clay handy and don't have a Zaino distributor handy and at your beckon call....go with the McGuiars....counds like a safe bet....trusty product and has obviously worked in the past. GOOD LUCK!!!

WOO HOO!!!!

I got the paint off! I didn't use Meguiars ScratchX, or a rubbing compund, or a clay bar or GS27... I used 100% mineral spirits, or more commonly known as paint thinner! It's ok to use on the clear cloat, as I just dabbed it on and rubbed just a tiny bit. Came right off... Then touched it up with some wax. Good as new, and I'm a happy man.

Thanks again for all the hints. Wife still denies it. LOL. I don't see any evidence on the garage, so she may be off the hook.
