when i first got my CL, I was all about modding it and I was looking at the white guages but after thinking about it I just decided that the stock ones are just as cool - if not cooler...IMHO

I have a clp too and have been looking for gauges too, but I really want the reverse indiglo, but I 'm having trouble finding them. They're avaible for the TL but not sure if they'll fit.

That did not look like fun - can you give some specifics?? How long did it take to do the car? Where did you get the LEDs from? How hard?

Etc...

Thanks - pics look good!! I bet that made a world of difference in that car, eh?? The stock bulbs are quite dull...

Sweet mother of all that is good, this rocks!!! It looks difficult even though I do possess a solder gun. Any way to get a parts list and more step by step?

those knock-off gauges look like garbage, if you want white face gauges, go with the CL-S gauges, the actual parts, not that knock off crap

it was not fun, took a weekend just to do the cluster cause i had to remove the stock blue color that was painted on the back of the gauges without removing the needles, and getting to needles to light up was a project itself

the leds are just plain super white leds that i go off ebay, and stuck 1 led behind each number

the needles have to have light at the right angle to make them light up, had to crazy glue 2 leds per needle to get that to work.

otherwise the rest of the car u remove each bulb and replace it with a led and resistor

not sure if that answers the question, but if u got any let me know i'll answer them the best i can

There is money to be made by creating dash kits that have the LED conversion done. I'd REALLY like to do this.

Are the guages on the 03 CL-S the same as the 01 CL-S in terms of brightness, etc...??

It's no good.

I talked to a tech here at Infiniti who said I'd be nuts to take the guages apart and do this - said it would take TONS of time, glue, solder, and luck...

rbf351 - how much to have you do my guages?

do you know the value of the resistors, and do you have pics of when you took apart the dash for the radio and everything?

yes they are the same brightness for all years, and yes it's nuts doing what i did, but when someone tells me it can't be done i'll do it just to prove them wrong

not sure, how much u wanna pay?

i can do an entire cluster or even a car in 1 day if i work for 4 hours non stop

I'm gonna do it.

I've looked at these pics like 400 times. I like the look and the only thing I hate on my CL-S are the quages and semi green/white light that comes from them...

SO - I could really use your help with parts and instructions here and there-- I have an understanding of LED technology.... but I'm guessing there were alot of things you learned that would be potential mistakes for me before I start ripping stuff apart...

If you know:
What are the LEDS you used? How many OHM? How many Millimeter? Etc... I see tons on eBay, and I'm just not sure which ones would work best.

Do I need any special wiring for the guage cluster?

Were you able to change ALL the lights in the car?? Meaning even the little trip reset deal on the dash, etc...??

Any and all help is appreciated greatly - and if you want to come to Ohio and install, I'll pay for gas and labor!

Thanks!

The backlighting for the LCD on the radio looks to have a bluish tone to it. Were super whites used for this as well?

Also, the seat heater LEDs look bluish/green from the pic.
