Not too sure about more HP since it's rare for a spark plug to do that. Denso has a patent for theirs that makes them last a little longer and can be used in harsh conditions. In reality, they are both good, just have to change sooner then 100,000 miles. As for price. Imotorgear has them for $10.49 ea as oppose to sparkplug.com which has them for $11.99 ea. That's for the Denso IK20 for the Type S. It's IK16 for the Premium model.
Like most aftermarket items, it comes down to personal taste as well as recommendations from friends and tuner shops.

www.imotorgear.com seems to be the cheapest place to purchase Densos. But when I tried to call them up, I kept getting an answering machine.

So I thought of ordering it OL. imotor has the plugs for $11.20 each and W/O any s/h. But I was hopping that I could get some kinda promotional deal for 1st time buyers if I registered.

Have any of u guys gotten a promotional deal for being 1st time buyers or some kinda deal on the Densos?

No, no deal. I ordered on line and they were delivered 3 days later. Seems they have increase the price of the plugs, but no longer charge shipping. I checked my invoice and they come to the same amount.
This is really about as cheap as you're going to get them since they are imported from Japan.
The NGK's are a lot cheaper in price, and from what I've heard and read, they are really good too.

The only max noticable thing is that these plugs, because they used less voltage, have a slightly better response then say the plats. You would really need a dyno to actual know the exact gains which would be barely readable. They do seem to make the engine run smoother, however our engines already are smooth. I notice an improvement in my 4-runner which now runs a lot smoother, but again we're talking different engine designs, CL being V-Tec. Toyota not. I've only had these plugs a short time and the ECU has not yet fully adjusted to their improve design. Others who have had them longer in the CL can give a better answer. I just figure base on reading that these were the best money can buy. However like most things, there's always something better coming and alot really do depend on personal driving styles as well as recommendations from friends and well known mechanics.

From NGK:

The spark plug has two primary functions:

To ignite the air/fuel mixture
To remove heat from the combustion chamber

Good reading:
http://www.ngksparkplugs.com/techinfo/spark_plugs/techtips.asp

Unless you are running a highly modified engine or continually running at high RPM for a sustained period of time, you will not see any improved performance from a spark plug change. As long as your plug are running clean, you're in good shape. Spark plug technology has come a long way to give 100,000 miles on a set of plugs.

I'm debating which plugs I should purchase. Is it necessary to Denso plugs? There is no gain so why not purchase a cheap spark plug?
