where is this plug??

I just recently noticed that my 3rd brake light is not plugged in. I had some new speakers put in the back and think that they may have hidden it. Been pulled over once for no light, cant afford a ticket. can anyone tell me where the power lines originate from back there so i can plug it back in?

thanks in advance

Doubt they inplugged it.. Mainly it's inside the spoiler.. More then likely if you had audio work done then they blew a fuse.. Just check the drivers side and passenger side fuse box..

my light is in the car, not on the spoiler. there is no harness anywhere I can see that would plug into it.

Looks to me like the bulb goes in from the bottom of the brake light assembly, meaning the harness is probably accessed from the trunk area. Have a look there.

Good luck.

i have looked everywhere in the trunk, nothing. the only think i can think of is that when the guy installed my rear speakers he left the harness up in the rear deck or something

Odd. The shop I went to didn't touch anything related to the 3rd brake light.

Hey, check your Owner's Manual, flip to the bulb replacement section. That'll tell you exactly where the harness is located.

yeah, i did. it shows it coming from the same area as the trunk light. i dont see another harness anywhere around it. do any of you have a 2001 that you could check to see where yours enters the trunk from?

Do you have a spoiler at all? If so, if your spoiler has a LED strip on it, that functions as the 3rd Brake light, and takes the place of the one on the one behind the rear seat.

As was just said... The connector is removed from the third brakelight when you have a spoiler added with an LED light. The connector is then connected to the spoiler light thereby leaving the original third brakelight disconnected.

DO YOU HAVE A SPOILER????

If you don't have one, the cord should be under the rear shelf within the trunk cavity, not
under the shelf itself within the cabin of the car.

ok, thanks. just thought it was odd to have the light there for nothing. is there anything out to get rid of that light and make it flat?
