Replacing one flat tire on CL-- $289?!

Got a flat tire on right front. Go to sear auto center and be told that it is $289 to replace it. Is the tire so expensive? Just for one tire almost $300 after everything included?

Thanks a lot,

dodo

ya tirerack has great prices. If you want most local places might price match them.

What caused the flat? Small holes are repairable...

Dats hella high.

No dealer I've gone to even charges 200 for the tire, mounting, and balancing.

I would definately go somewhere else.

I had to pay about that a few years back when mine got a cut sidewall. Could have been chaeper if I got it from tire rack but I needed it right then.

They are just trying to sucker you since you need it repaired right then. Tell them that you can get the tire for $180 and show them tirerack if they ask for the details. Don't let them give you that

For that price I will get 2 new ones from tirerack, cheaper brands and mount them.

I will store the good one remaining Michelin "just in case" i loose another tire.

If tire rack sell them for $179 than $289 is not too bad.

$179+shipping will be close to $195.

Sears Hum... charge a little more than tire rack, Let say $200.

$200 + mount and balance+new valve stems+depose fee+sales tax.
So it will be $200+20+8+3=231+sale tax=$249

oh, I forgot sear add another $30 onto your bill if you come in with a blown tire. If you are just checking prices that the $30 is not added on.

A while ago, I paid $189 for a OEM tire, plus tax and mounting/balancing which added up to about $235.

In retrospect, my new Michelin Pilot Sport PS2, 235/40ZR18s cost about $250 each installed.
