What's Done to This Grill?

I really like how this grill looks but it looks like the chrome horizontal bars are somehow taken out?

Yes, you can take them out and re-apply the "A" symbol.

Is there a write-up on how to do this?

Not really, it's self explanatory really. Take the grill off, there are nuts on the backside. Then there's all these little screws that hold the grill together, then there a few more little screws that hold on the A & the chrome trim.

Just did the mod, took about 10 minutes. The black plastic bars are still visible, where the chrome used to be. You can't really see them, but if you look closely in these pics:

I'm actually going to mod mine very soon & cut out the bars & entire center & make the grill hollow. Cause with my mesh grill it looks funny because you see the outline of the inner grill. I have a spare grill so I can put it back to stock.

so are you guys talking about totalyl removing the wing then putting the A back on? Seems to me that would look alittle empty.

@least the car pictured has the mesh.

mmmm... mesh when done correctly =

I'm remove ALL the content behind the grill. It's going to be empty & my mesh grill will be the only visible thing. No A.

MJH- I hope you're gonna put some mesh in there and not just leave it like that. I dont have a good pic of my car on hand, but it will look tacky if you leave it like that.

ya know, i went into doing my grill thinking I was just going to have the mesh only and my friends were like, "lets put the A on and see how it looks". I didnt think it looked that bad so I left it.

Another option is you can just paint the chrome bar and the inside surround black like I did.

Really does look amazing, I just painted my chrome bar tonight with black bumper spray paint. Should turn out nicely by the morning. And yeah, it definitely looked like it needed something without the chrome bar there.

Maybe I should've kept it now everyone's going to have it. Oh well, at least no one else is going to have my carbon "A" emblem.

lol.

there's only so much we can do to our CL's to make 'em "unique". just remember imitation is the best form of flattery. I'm sure everyone will give credit to an idea when it's due.

i like your carbon A emblem on your car... you need to get more carbon fiber to match it up

I figured out how.

Essrak is the man. I saw two cars, a red one and a gold one. I think the gold one was his anyway. What happened to the red one to get the R.I.P. and where did he get a supercharger?

The pics of the gold one where the engine shroud on top was painted to match, and the inside of the headlight covers were also painted, that was awesome. I need to spend some quality time with mine...
