whats 6the best synthetic oil. i use mobil 1 but my buddy with an 06 TL said the stealership told him to use somehting else when he bought it, i forget castoil or somehting.

just wondering what you all use and if hee got told that bc he has an 06?



also is it bad to swith oils? aka if i used mobil 1 is it bad to use somehting else on the nexxt oil change?

Oil is really a personal preference. A lot of people use Mobil 1. Though I have recently found out it is no longer "Fully Synthetic" as it claims to be, as they have changed the base to a regular dino oil. Royal purple is also another popular oil, though it's quite $$$. I've decided to use Penzoil Platinum Synthetic at my next oil change per some recommendations here on AZ, and is cheaper than Mobil 1. Oil is oil, and it'll protect your engine with proper maintenance.

there was a long post about synthetics not too long ago and stated that mobil1 is the way to go. mobil 1 fully synthetic ftw.

I forgot what it was called, but it's $50 for 5 quarts. Enzoil or something?

Anyways, for my personal preference, I like Amsoil, Royal Purple, and Red Line. BUT, I use Castrol more times than not. (just easier to come by)
