What sway has the greatest effect

Front or rear?

i'm only able to get one sway bar(x-mas present request) and would like to know which one has the greatest affect on body roll, replacing the front or the rear.

Also, if one of those is easier to install then the other, that may sway my decision.

thanks.

rear...front sways r pretty much identicle in size...the rear varies more

for the front, i'd suggest u get the upperstrut tie bar instead

but i'd still prefer the rear sway bar over the upperstrut bar

I don't think you can buy them individually. Comptech only sells them in pairs (front and rear together)

When Smitty and I installed ours, we checked the difference between stock and Comptechs. The front were identical...we were pretty mad about that. The CT rears were definitely larger in size.

you can buy the neuspeeds seperatly. carparts.com has them for around $150. and front strut bar for $90.(neuspeed). I think i may go that route.

We use the same sways at the 2000 accord right?

aight, the neuspeed rears seem like a waste, they're only 19mm while comptech's are 22mm. That sucks!

Anyone know if the eibach(in development) sways are ever going to be released?

We do use the same sways as the latest gen accords (not sure if this includes the 2003's though)

You might want to do a search on the effectiveness of those Neuspeed strut bars. I've heard varying claims.

Has anyone used the "RACE ONLY" Neuspeed 25mm rear sways?

aigth, just called eibach. their "in development" sways will be coming out the beginning of the year, retail for $450. 27mm front(same as comptech, and 23mm rear +1mm then comptech). they will only be sold as a set though.

they said they had issues with the bushing, that's what held them up.

the rears are solid requiring either the use of a different material to achieve increased stiffness or a larger diameter...the fronts however are hollow, both in stock form, and the comptechs...so a new variable can and has come into play...the walls of the comptech front sway are thicker evidenced by there additional weight...
someone does have the neuspeed race he's a tl guy but cant remember his ID

we held both in each hand (i know it's not scientific) and even swapped them in our hands, and they felt nearly identical in weight. Both Smitty and I confirmed this. I would've thought that Comptech would make it so that it is at least more noticable then it currently is.

I went with the Neuspeed 25mm sway. I checked on the TL board, and at least two of them installed them, and both seem to be impressed. I called neuspeed directly, they only have 1 left. It was much cheaper then buying the comptech's, and being that the rear's are the only one's that make a difference, this seemed like a no brainer. ETA Dec02 ugh!

I was the first person to get the Neuspeed race rears and the solid Neuspeed fronts for the TLS/CLS. All I could say is that it perfromed very agressively. I had IS300 owners drive my car and they all agree that the sways made a huge difference (although the torque steer is still there). When I first made my initial purchase I got flamed so bad...yes...people on this board that you will NEED re-enforced brackets yata yata. I've done autocrossing in them and it wasn't until 1.5 years later did my right rear bracket snaped. I was reversing off a steep driveway where in the end it had a huge pit (6 inches in depth at elast). My car was fully loaded (5 passengers) and it was just too much weight for the bracket to hold.

I've done agressive turns, driven over speed bumps with only 1 wheel to test the brackets/holders/endlinks and they all passed with flying colors. It wasn't until I tried to do over a ditch at an angle, fully loaded with passengers did they finally reach their breaking point.

Total cost to replace the bracket? $16 including tax from the Acura parts department. Labor? free for me.

i recommend the comptechs

you will lose enough ride quality with these but at the same time increase better handling. highly recommend the neuspeed upper strut bar too so look to spend about 350 for everything

Curious...be honest...do you recommend the Comptech just because you have it? Or do you recommend it because you think it's the best?

edgalang, thanks for the reassurance. I'm totally stoked about this sway. I was worried that they meant i would have to get the bushings custom made. I got mine for under $200 shipped directly from neuspeed. I triple checked to make sure they were shipping me the correct sway.

Just make certain you dont go offroading in them or say bye bye to the stock brackets. I just recently snapped them after 1.5 years of use beacuse I decided to tackle a 6 inch ditch at an angle with 5 people in my car. Maybe they would of been fine if I had the Comptechs ...but this was serious abuse I was putting down on the sways...especially when going in reverse.
