what should i do?

if some of you noticed i bought the Stone headers from Nashua for the 6 speed CL-S

they have fitment issues and i tried 3 different ways of installing them, none work and they still don't fit correctly

i've PM'ed Nashua and he doesn't respond, i've also sent him a payment reuest for a refund. the last time i heard from him he said do not send them back to the address he shipped them from since he moved that thursday and no one will sign for it

i have his cell number, should i wait another day for him to possibly answer me or just call him now. i don't want this to be a problem, he send me something that is no good and i just want the refund.

Nashua has been on here for a very long time and is a well known member.

I'd personally give him the benefit of the doubt and wait another day.

thats what i want to do.

i was happy that he was letting me be the first to get the headers, and he didn't think there was gonna be a fitment issue, otherwise i would have never bought them

how come this was moved?

Give it a couple more days. If he just moved, I'm sure his main priority isn't checking his email/pm's.

My thoughts exactly....He's done alot and tried even more to get members aftermarket parts, so I doubt he's up to anything shady, especially for four hundred bucks. Give him a little time.

honestly I don't think it will be a problem. I've met Nashua and he seemed like a straight shooter. If he is moving give him a few days and I'm sure he'll get back to you. Hold off on sending the headers and see what he says first.

i'm not jumping the gun. he answered 2 of my PM's saying don't send it back to that address since he moved, so i asked him to either call me or PM me the new address and he read the 2 messages, but never responded. since he read them i was wondering why he wasn't responding to me with an answer

maybe i just feel differently about money and someone who is too far away for me to be in contact with face to face.

if i can't deal face to face i want to know what going on at all times, and when i don't hear something or feel like i'm being ignored i start to question it

I don't think he's jumping the gun. This forum helps hold people accountable and he has been calm and respectful.

I really confused by his lack of a response here.
Every hour that goes by it looks worse & worse.
And especially when it’s obvious that he’s reading the Forum.

Sounds like a bit of a raw deal. It'd be nice to hear a resonse from your vendor, but you also have to remember that by volunteering for a prototype fitment, there is a small degree of risk. The history of Comptech header knock-offs has not been positive.

Frankly, one of the few things I've learned from reading these forums is that other manufacturers cannot reliably dupilicate ComptechUSA's design of the J32 block headers. Every knock-off has been followed by numerous posts of poor fitment, resonance, peeling coatings, or other failure.

I don't think your vendor is obliged to refund costs of time or money for install, especially since you did it yourself. It would be nice, however, if he refunded your outlay cost for the ill-fitting header, or made you another set of headers that actually fit. I'd take the former and put the money aside for the Comptech headers.

Everyone's standing up for Nashua_Night_Hawk because he's a good guy, as they should, but this is business. And this is a prime example where a business deal and friendship does not mix. He might be a good guy, but his keeping quiet about what's happening is just not good business. He was aware of the poor fit right away, but instead of offering refunds or new prototypes (or something else - like simply saying 'hold your horses, I'm working on a solution'), he 'put the ball into rbf's court' with instructions to re-torque. Even after multiple posts about continued failure there has been no gestures towards rbf351 for remediation. IMHO, YMMV...

even though he stated in the original post that he would refund install costs there are none and i'm not gonna be an ass about it and make my father produce a fake bill from his should which i could, but won't since i'm not looking to screw him over. All i ask is that he resolves this, either by refunding me the money or replacing them, and i rather have the refund since i don't think they will ever fit correctly

btw what does YMMV mean? Your mileage may vary? whats that mean?

YMMV = Your mileage may vary. Meaning that this is my opinion and yours may be different.

It means the same as IMHO/in my humble opinion/in my honest opinion.

I was using the YMMV/IMHO for my comment about mixing business and friends, something that I don't find particularly desireable.

I agree with you, but it looks bad when he visits the site yet refuses to post a simple “I’m looking into your refund” type of comment to keep the flames down.

That's what I was trying to say. A post of even 'I'll get back to you' would keep all the negative remarks away.

It is me.. Nashua Night Hawk....
I do appologize for robert... for not replying till now..
First the facts:
1) I did move since last Thursday 26/08/04 I am no more living in the USA let alone Nashua.
2) I had no access to me email, nor my cell phone nor the internet, I am now using a temp access.
3) I already replied to rbf351 and told him about the move.
4) Since I moved I did not have time to even check my new temp email....
5) I had to worry about exporting my cars, transport my stuff, find a temp storage, find a lodging, terminate my utilities, etc...
6) moreover, I need to get a new driving license as the US one is not valid anymore...
7) Basically my life is a mess right now...

Finally, Robert felt victimized and he should not as I already told him that I will work it out for him.

Just to let you know all, I may not be on-line very often till my life is back in order...

Nashua.
