What does it generally mean when this light comes on? What I mean is what should I take a look at first upon seeing this light? I just changed the oil last week, so I know that itsn't a problem. Can someone with the knowledge PLEASE HELP?!

It's just a milage indicator (idiot light) that supposed to let you know when it's time to change the oil. You need to reset it when you change the oil, then it will start flashing again somewhere between 3500-5000 miles.

Reset it by turning the car off. Press and hold down the two trip odometer buttons (right side of the instrument panel). Start the car and keep the buttons pressed until they stop flasing. Done.

 

Is it flashing upon start up and then going out? Did you change the oil yourself? You may need to reset the maintenance required meter. If not it should be in the manual what the light indicates.

For example, my maintenance light is flashing when I turn the car on every morning but thats because its coming due for my oil change.

 

It means you should read the owners manual..
