What do you guys think of the Pontiac Solstice?

I really like it...except for ONE THING.
It's a PONTIAC.

I miss my 03 CL-S :(
Just saw on C/D that there are a couple other GM cars that'll share the new platform used in the Solstice... one looks like an SSR with a hardtop...
The one thing I don't like is that it's a manual tranny and it's RWD.
Wait, no, that came out wrong.
The one thing I don't like is the front grille. Where did the bumper go

Those that went to the Detroit Autoshow .... the production Solstice looks very much like the Concept seen in 2001. HOWEVER, there are some tweaks to it ... tires won't be the 19" front/20"rear setup (I think it's a more conservative 18") Some bumper changes to meet gov't crash tests, etc.
Prices start at $20k, but most will opt for the loaded version, which will push the price at $25k. (That's what the Pontiac rep told me when I was there)
Yes -- the Kappa platform (???) is shared with Vauxall and Saturn, to save development costs. They went too technical when they described it in detail. Bottomline: rigid body despite it being a roadster!

PS I got a mini-brochure at the autoshow, but I left it at work!

It's the only Pontiac that I'd be interested in. If it undercuts the Miata's performance and price, I think it can be a winner. Especially if they take Chemmech's advice: debadge it!

2.4L 170/170.. Not bad at all for such a small and light car. Most likely a ~220-240 SC version coming out shortly after.
Really awesome car. Looks even better in person
