What do you guys say when...

someone points out your scratched rims?

Almost everyone has done this to me, the worst is when there is a group of people around, causing them all to stare...

anyone here know what i am talking about?

fuck i hate it....cause its so annoying, whenever someone is checking out my ride from outside, i look at their eyes so they dont look at the rims...

what do we tell people, that were shitty drivers, or that acura fucked up?

I think acura did fuck up, even the service boys at the dealer told me they knew acura fucked up, and thats why the TL-S rims look a bit different...

I tell them I was a bad driver and made a mistake. But that only worked when I had one scratched rim. How do you explain 3 scratched rims?

In any case, I replace all of my rims with used, unsratched rims and I have never been close to re-scratching. I believe it is more driver's fault, true if you screw up, you pay, but now that I am used to driving this car, I don't think I'll have this problem again. This rim was downright embarassing.

I tell them that one day I let my mom use the car and scraped the rim on the curbs! SO my takes the heat instead of me..hehehe Im so bad :p

I'd tell 'em Acura f'ked up by designing a frickin' wheel that protrudes beyond the tire sidewall. Then I would tell them that I had some mega-dollar wheels on order to replace the scratched ones. Finally, I would think of some smart ass comment about their car so they would feel bad about opening their mouth to begin with.

With me I tell them that my sister borrowed my car.

At least you guys can use the excuse of a slight design flaw, not really the case with the Accord.

Same here....a few friends and myself were leaving a Diner recently (stood by my friends car chatting), and a woman walks out with 6 or 7 people- she sees my car and points at it, her response "uggghhh, that is the ugliest color I have ever seen on a car...that is horrible."

So her little party breaks apart....and she walks over to a rusty Hyundai- holy shit, "I say to her, at least my car is painted bitch"

So she sais "Go fuck yourself"

i just admit to fucking up, cause i cant say my mom did it,,,in my case, all my rims are scratched...

but i always say "yeah i am gonna chrome dip these anyway, so it wont matter"..but then there is always the wise guy that tells me it will still show if i chrome dip..

Amir, Carcone's in Richmond Hill charges $100/rim with a 24hr turnaround...

Worth the investment if you ask me!

That's what this entire forum is about, caring a little tiny bit about what other people have to say.
No true Acura driver would remain unphased by the comment "uuggh, what the hell happened to that rim!?" if it were badly scratched or bent.

If you think about it, a dent is unattactive because the human eye finds such imperfections unattractive. So you [and I] hate dents. Note I didn't say "a dent is unattractive because [insert your name here]'s eye finds such imperfections unattractive."

Carcone's don't discount...for $100 you get a rim in brand new conditions. This is the shop all dealers (including Acura) and bodyshops use....although the dealer will charge you $200/rim.

Hopefully my rims are done by tomorrow, I hate this 1.7EL with the banner in the back!
