What brake setup that doesn't warp ??
Hi there I have been reading about our rotor warping issue, but yet never really find one clear solution on what brake rotor and pads combo to use.
For many of you who are experienced with the warping issue, maybe can kindly tell us on which rotor and pads combo to use to get rid of the warping.
I am not using the car for racing purpose or anything, but my rotor warped soo bad and I need to get brakes done pretty soon. I am not planning to get it done at stealership, instead I'll just do it myself.
Thank you

Depends on how much you plan on spending. I would recommend a big brake kit if you have the cash. Rotora makes one for our cars that will run you about $1300 or so.
If you plan on doing rotors and pads instead, I would recommend the Rotora slotted rotors with Greenstuff pads. I heard these are good for little brake dust. That's what I'm planning on doing for a start. I would also recommend a set of stainless steel brake lines.
Powerslot and brembo also make rotors for our cars that should be a bit better than the stock ones. Rotora just seem to be the best for value and quality.

Dont get rotora's people say they tend to rust which is the case with 90% of all rotors. Check out this sponsored group buy for racingbrake rotors https://acurazine.com/forums/sponsored-sales-group-buys-10/racingbrake-rotors-available-here-now-316102/
They look to be the best quality aftermarket rotor, especially because of the way they coat the rotors with EDP finish. They cut the surface of the rotors AFTER they coat them with the EDP, that ensures all but the surface of the rotor is covered with the coating. Im gonna be picking up some of those rotors in the next couple weeks.

That is not true. I have seen plenty of setups, including my own CL-S, with ROTORA rotors and have seen no rust. In fact, probably the majority of the CL/TL guys on this board who run aftermarket rotors run ROTORA slotted rotors. PM me if you need a price.

I think Brembo only makes a blank rotor and some companied buy them and have them cross drilled etc. Axxis pads are supposed to be pretty good but lets out a lot of brake dust.

Brembo does not offer a cross-drilled or slotted rotors for the 01-03 CL's.
My neighbor put the EBC's on his Audi A4 with genuine Brembo crossed drilled rotors and he loves them.
If you want a price for genuine Brembo blanks PM me.

they are really just used for off-road purposes.... tracking the car, standing on the brake, etc.... they are harder on the rotor as well...

That question makes no sense. Any brake system will warp/fade unless were talking special race setups on a race car.
On our cars, i think ANY brake setup will eventually warp if you drive hard enough. The better, bigger, and more powerful brakes like Brembo, Wilwood, and Rotora will resist the problem much better though.
It all depends on your driving style though.

My brakes are holding up very well. I have noticed that when I'm really rough with the brakes they seem to warp slightly. But it goes away and doesn't come back after a few times hitting the brakes, I put some very agressive metallic pads on my car. I told Sherwin, at brake zone, that I wanted a type of pad that would act sort of as a lathe on the rotor, and that's exactly what I got .
At first I had porcelin brakes, but they warped the rotor really bad, they don't support very good heat transfer from the rotor.

Still though, it sounds like a good setup and it should be better than stock anyways! Enjoy, and you got a pretty decent price too!
