Went to the track tonight

I don't feel like scanning the slips in tonight, but maybe I'll get around to it this weekend.

Here are the salient details...

14.396 @ 97.34
14.456 @ 97.44 (against ferizzo's 14.818 @ 95.98) I redlighted, though...first time ever.
14.464 @ 97.15
14.328 @ 97.85
14.273 @ 97.90
14.447 @ 97.17
14.343 @ 98.02
14.427 @ 97.81

New best for me...14.2 @ 97

Ran stock rims and tires at 23# in front and 41# in back. Nearly all 60' were 2.2x...one was a 2.20.

Thanks! Yeah it was colder than a witch's tit out there in NH. Low-to-mid 30s most of the night.

If I had DRs, I probably could have run 14.1 or 14.0...oh, well. I need to buy them from Titand19 fo sho.

Thanks.

Always gateshift.

Removed spare, jack, and tools.

1/4-tank at the start of the night.

TB to about 2100 or 2200.

I'm gonna work on removing the left fog lens to get more cold air to the intake.

I had a decent day (not as good as Pete's). here are the skinnies:

Sportshift (both times forgot to turn off VSA):
14.974 @95.82 (against Ray)
14.818 @95.98 (against Pete)

Sportshift (VSA off)
14.714 @95.91

Gateshifting (VSA off)
14.672 @96.18
14.697 @96.25

I suck at launching but as you can see got better each time (except for the very last run where I completely messed up and just cruised to an 18.xx). Best 60' time was a 2.35 and a 2.38. Everything else was a 2.5, 2.8, and a 2.4. Somewhere else I might be able to pick up a tenth or so.

I kept everything in the trunk so I think Pete had about a 100lb edge on me (I outweigh him by about 50lbs + spare and jack + TLS a few pounds heavier).

Oh and I'm a moron Pete, when I got to the gas station afterwards I found that not only have I been riding my fronts on 23-25 PSI for a while, I also had the rears at 24-25 PSI. I guess properly setup I might be able to get a 14.5 (maybe a 14.4 but doubtful) at 97mph! I hate excuses but I learned a little today so I know I know I have more to squeeze out.

Good seeing you Pete.

No worries, Fred. Took me a while to figure out how to launch this boat, and I still don't do it that well. It was good to see you and Ray...call y'all tomorrow to figure out what's up. G/N.

Oh and a few notables:

- Lightning ran a 12.9 (all I remember seeing)
- RS6 ran a 12.7
- Stock Stang GT ran a 14.0 @99 (nice guy. Complimented the Acs as he saw us go head to head)
- 14.3 for a G35c auto with Borla exhaust (told Pete he ran a 14.5 stock)
- I think there was a Z that kept fucking up and ran a 16.xx and a 17.xx but another that ran a 14.0 stock I believe.

Thanks, y'all!

I was kinda surprised it wasn't that packed. I went the last Street Night of the year last year, and it was frickin' freezin' and it was packed.

I would have had another run or two if there hadn't been two long delays to clean shit off the track. I'm skipping Import Wars today. There's Open Test & Tune tomorrow, then there's Street Night Wednesday and Friday, and the track will close. I may try to go again Wednesday, but I'm not sure yet.

If Titand19 can bring his DRs up before Wednesday afternoon, I could try for 14.1x or 14.0x.

it's very easy to remove, I've been planning on doing that for a while, but I always forget bring a screwdriver to the track.

Wholly $heeet. 8 runs . FK to get 8 runs here would be a FKin miracle. We would be luckly to get 4.

So my man u wanna get into mid 13s. Buy me a ticket and I'll bring a friend of mine that lives in a bottle .

I think Bulldog is very close to getting a 14.1 or even a 14.0. tires will help and he only has the header/intake mods so he can still get some more power.

Thanks, y'all. I feel good, but all I have to do is talk to my buddy with his Supra TT, and I'll come right back to earth. He'll be proud, though.

Glad you guy's had a good night....mine was pretty weak....I couldn't launch for my life. One one decent launch was one of my worst times and the lowest trap. My traps were low and my car seemed to be very weak up top as I realized in my first run of the night against Fred. I was up on him and he caught up and passed me for his weakest run of the night. The silver lining of the whole thing was that I had a CEL yesterday so at least I confirmed something was wrong. I have a bad mass air sensor again....a brand new one failed on me in less than 2 months. I also suspect I have issues elsewhere that I will have to chase down. I'm starting to think EVO8.

It was light drizzle tonight... The roads are wet. I plugged in the Gtech Competition, went to a dead end straight line and tried to do a 0-60 run, VSA Off, 1/2 throttle, the front tires got smoked like for 10 seconds, no traction what so ever. I aborted the run and decided to try later.

I guess the only reading was 60' time and it was like 3.39s!!

I never had a need to either gate or sport shft. I always left it in D4 or D5 the few times I ran it (not at a track).

I really dont think sport or gate shifting improves the times at all.

I beg to differ. I have run at the track in D5, ShittyShift, and Gate Shifting. Gate Shifting gives me the best times. I haven't used the other two in a while, so I can't say how much it helps, though.
