Went for a few test drives today....
My brother-in-law and I went for a couple of test drives today.
First stop.
MAZDA RX-8
The car is nice both inside and out....low end power is just non-existant in this car. Top end seemed ok and it handled nice in corners..staying pretty flat evn when accelerating.
overall ride was real harsh
Interior is SWEET...
would i buy it...NO
Next stop.
DODGE RAM 1500 HEMI.
WOW...this truck is powerful...the commercials kept going through my head.."hey, you gotta Hemi in there?"
Anyway. the truck reall pulls hard off the line...something like 345hp/375torque. highway speeds were surprisingly comfortable..ride was good for a truck, unlimitied power it seemed.
Interior is classic cheap plastic from dodge, but cavernous with the extened quad cab we had. 20in wheels look NICE..car has a really aggresive look to it...it felt like we could just run on top of cars with this thing...you sit so high.
Overall..I loved it...He may be buying it...i would definetly consider this car if i was looking for a truck.
Last stop
2004 ACURA TL
went to Turnersville Acura and NJ. "Francois" helped me out. He was cool as hell...didnt give me any hard times..seem to get that alot being a young guy looking at 30K+ cars.
First off..the car is so sweet in person...i personally am a big fan of the WDP(white) with either the Parchment or the quartz(gray)interior. The stance is beefier..looks more german than anything from japan.
First big thing i noticed was the fit and finish of the car is awesome...feels/sounds/looks more solid than my car.
Engine sound...what engine sound?...could barely hear that when the windows are up. The is car is seriously smooth and quiet...power seems to be better mid range...low end feels alot like my car now, but the increase in tourque shows in the mid range if you ask me. Sound system is great...demo disc is cool..
Seats are comfortable....maybe not as comfortable and hugging as the CLS but comfortable nonetheless. The interior is roomy but doesnt feel huge inside..which i personally like.
Overall..I will be driving this car within the year..once again..bang for the buck comes into play, but with something extra this time...maybe that distinct EURO feel this time..i dont know for sure...but this car is special.
Just my opinion..i could be wrong,

so I was talking to a guy at the drag strip who had a 12.7 sec lightning....apparently there was a guy there with a Hemi one night talking shit to the guy's son in the lightning saying how he was going to smoke that F150. So the son says why don't you back up your mouth with $50. So the idiot in teh Hemi takes the bet and runs a 15.9. of cours ethe Ford ran a sub 13. The guy in teh Hemi of course didn't want to pay. Too funny

Nice review on the TL. I would kinda hate it if you couldn't hear the engine anymore. Thats one thing i like about the CL, a very nice engine sound.
I dunno, sometimes I think my CL-S is a little too loud. I like the way it sounds, even though it is a little higher pitched than I would have liked. I almost wish it sounded a little more like the VQ35 in my girls Maxima, because you can barely hear that thing, and it actually seems to accelerate smoother than my CL-S.
