Weird RPM jump. Whats going on

Alright so im driving back home after dropping off my friend from his house and theres a long stretch ahead before i get to my house so i decide to give it a little gas during 2nd gear all the way up until 4k rpm and let off. As i press the clutch and put it in neutral my rpm juss stays at 2.5k rpm and stays there for a good 30 secs. Being confused i turned off my car and started it up again but this time it went up to 2k rpm in neutral and fluctuated between 1.5 and 2k rpm. I decide to put it in first gear and drive it around for a while w/o pressing the gas and the car takes itself up to 2.5 rpm (15mph). I then just drove it up my drive way into the garage and turned off the car again. I started it up once more and the rpm went to 1.5 and stayed there. Anyone experience this problem? I remember reading something like this on the forum but i can't seem to find the thread. Can some1 explain whats going on and what i need to do?

Ok i just also realized my aem intake had disconnected from the throttle body and was just sitting in the engine bay. Im guessing this had something to do with the rpm acting all funny. One more question: for you guys how have aem intake on ur cl-s do you guys have 1 or 2 of those metal rings that holds and connects your intake and throttle body. I forgot what the name was but its the metal ring that you can loosen or tighten wit a flat piece screw driver.

Go to any shop that sells performance parts and buy T-Bolt style clamps. You only need 1 on each side of the coupler and I guarantee that it will never come off or strip.

i just found out what caused my rpm to jump was because of my gas pedal. Something was stuck or im not exactly sure how but the gas pedal wasnt released all the way even when i wasnt stepping on it. So i gave it a quick punch to the floor while in neutral and i guess some how it got unstuck and returned to it's normal state and the rpm returned back to normal.
