..Must be the homemade iceman lead intake tubing and the solid hardwood trims that are loading that car down.

jon's car has navi so stock it should weigh 3525 lbs.. but factor in the spoiler weight and whatever those mods he has and I suppose 3610 lbs. is not unreasonable.. but that sure is one heavy car at that weight .. I am surprised you could actually run a 14.57 1/4 mile with all that weight.. but good job on that run

what makes our cars so heavy anyway? it seems that competitive cars in this class are around 200-300 lbs. less than ours.

Luxury. Power motors in the doors & seats. Sunroof reinforcements. Lots of little things add up to a lot. But our car's weight is actually pretty average for it's size. What cars in our class are you referring to? Hope not the IS300 or 3 series as they are significantly smaller cars. Cars like the Solara and Max are about 100 lbs less but they lack a few amenities. You wanna talk about heavy.... The Lexus GS and Lincoln LS are both around the same size as a CL and they weight 150-250lbs MORE!!!

Doesn't gas weigh about 8LB per gallon too. Figure 17 gallon tank @ 8LB per gallon...roughly 136 LB of fuel.

Gasoline is roughly 6.5 lb per gallon.. Does stock weight include a full tank of gas or empty?? Anybody? (BTW.. a gallon of water is roughly 8 lbs per gallon.. gas/oil is less dense than water and therefore lighter per same volume)

3600 lbs? ROFL!!!

I remember when Buicks didn't weigh that much! And the CL-S can run low 6 second 60mph times too! VIVA VTECH!

The biggest weight is the safety equipment and structural design. Even my S2000 weighs around 2800 and it is tiny with manual seata etc.

I had my numbers wrong, thanks for clarifying; it makes sense that oil IS lighter than water.

I just had my car corner balanced when the coilovers were installed and the weight including me at 200lbs is 3450lbs. I would really like to take another 100lbs off the front of our heavy cars.
