we need someone to make an intercooler for us
ok guys who is going to do the research to make an intercooler for our cars?scalbert? etc etc.i figure with the chip we can go 6psi boost but it would be awesome with an intercooler.

intercooler or aftercooler?
So we'll call it: the charge air cooler for compressor discharge, CACCD...

Same thing; seems the SC crowd calls it an aftercooler and the turbo crowd calls it an IC. But in the end they both remove some of the heat generated by the compressor by flowing through a heat exchanger.

I have the Intake flange adapter done. It allows the intake elbow to mount so it faces the back of the car, at a slight angle down. Pic will be posted as soon as the photo is aproved by the host server admin. It's a bit rough and still needs to be trimmed to the final shape but you'll get the Idea. I have orded the silicone elbows. The 45* elbow will attach to the blower discharge and end up pointing slightly down and to the back of the car. The (2) 90* elbows will connect to each other to form a 180* U and end up as close to the firewall as possible with the inlets facing the front of the car. I can then determine whether the 8 or 10" IC will be used and what length 3" connector pipe to cut. The coolant hoses will be 1", and I still need to come up with a pump and the FM heat exchanger. I have asked the manufacturer for recommendations on these items. All the parts are off the shelf except for the intake flange adapter. Once I get the fittment of the IC done, the flange should be able to be duplicated realatively easily. I'll post pics as the project progresses!
Here's the parts list:
(1) PWR Barrel type IC, 6"dia x 6" long. (overall length is 12")
http://store.yahoo.com/cheapturbo/pwrli6di3ino.html
(1) PWR "Anywhere mount" heat exchager, pump, and hose, Kit
Available from http://store.yahoo.com/cheapturbo/index.html
(1) Baker silicone hose, 3" x 45 degree elbow
http://www.bakerprecision.com/purosil1.htm
(2) Baker silicone hose, 3" x 90 degree elbow
http://www.bakerprecision.com/purosil2.htm
(2) Short lengths of 3" connector pipe, (1)-1", and (1)-10"
(6) 3" Radiator clamps
(1) Intake Elbow flange adaptor, prototype done.
(1) Boost pulley (TBD)
And btw, 6psi w/o the chip is working great. With the chip I'm looking for 8psi!
Here's the pic of the flange adaptor. I know it's a bit rough but it works and was done with hand tools. http://www.photohost.org/gallery/sho...t=7&thecat=500

Nice work Brad...
Are you using the Comptech elbow?? Otherwise what are you going to do for the MAP sensor and the vacuum line for the bypass valve??
Also, any word on the pulley, about getting others made?? I'm doing the compression test tonight along with changing to the colder plugs supplied with the kit (I kept the Denso IK20's in that I installeed months before I installed the SC kit). So it won't be too long until I want that pulley back; but no rush. I'd rather see you get that IC done!!!

Yes, I'm using the Comptech elbow. There are already 2 plugs on the other side of the elbow for the vacuum line barb. There is also a flat spot on the elbow if I need to relocate the MAP to the other side for extra clearance. I'll see when I get the 45* silicone elbow on. I've already determined I could cut off as much as 1 1/2" off of the blower discharge but I'd like to keep it stock if I can. I'd rather rework the elbow, but I might need a bit more room. if so I'll, cut the end of the discharge instead.
As far as the pullies go, I'll be in the Detroit area next week, and plan on leaving the 4 1/2 psi pulley there to have a 6psi, and an 8psi made. I'm hoping it may just be a matter of cross applications of existing stepper pullies. Worst case I'll buy another 4 1/2 psi from Comptech to get yours back to you.

All I can say is WOW....
Awesome Brad.. keep pluggin away and send me the finished part list when your all set-up and done testing.
P.S. got your e-mails, but I did not have time to respond, thanks for the tips and advise..

Wasn't there rumors that CT was going to do an intercooler ??
Maybe their plans have changed since the CL is discontinued, but it might be worth giving them a call.

Yesterday while one of the mechanics was shuttling me back to work from dropping off my car (Acura of Pleasanton - AWESOME folks).....he said that there is going to be a new TL and CL...the TL will have 300hp (this is probably old news) and that they are going to give the CL more HP than that plus give it a more aggressive look.
