Warranty Info

Ok, I just bought an '03 CL-S 6speed, certified from Acura. Now I am thinking of doing some mod work in the spring/summer, basically just suspension (springs, sway bar, maybe shocks/struts), rims, and intake (maybe a brake kit also). The only thing is that I don't know what can be done to the car without voiding warranty's, and if Acura will install any parts that I might purchase? Can anyone please tell me what can and can't be done???

not so sure but i think aftermarket parts will only void warranty if they are the cause of a problem. i'm sure others can expand on this, but thats what i read somewhere, don't know how true it is or isn't

What dealer do you plan on going to? Marty Sussman seems to be mod friendly, very nice people there as well. They would be on the corners of Rt38 and 73.

Adding aftermarket parts doesn't void your warrenty. Only if the mod directly causes the part to fail can they not cover you. Thats the law.

Now dealer conduct is different. Some are mod friendly, some are assholes and will try and tell you mods void you warrenty.

As for parts installs, not sure about dealers since I install all my own parts. I've also done work on other members cars.

Where in Jersey are you and where did you buy your car. I take mine to Springfield and they have not given me any issues about the mods. PAA is supposed to be friendly.

I had asked the same question when I was taking it in for the tranny recall. Someone forwarded me the following link. Read it over, but I think you'll be OK.

I got mine at Springfield... did you install the mods yourself or at a shop??
Thanks for the link, I've read some already, will look through it some more later.

All the mods pretty much came with the car when he bought it. He installed the Icebox himself, removing his AEM CAI, and I installed his headers.

And I haven't really had any problems with Springfield. They even swapped out one of my busted strut dispite the springs and wheels. Just make nice with the service rep.
