Warning if you have the Auto-Dim Mirror

My silly father was wiping the black plastic edge of the rearview mirror with an Armor-All Cleaning Wipe when he got a little bit of the solution on the mirror glass. He rubbed it off with a cloth and now the little area where the liquid touched no longer turns dark like it should. So just letting everyone know to be careful with what they use to clean that thing. I guess only water is safe...

The exact thing happened to my dads car, except the genius service mechanics were the one who did it. Is there anyway to reverse the process or is it permanently stuck?

This is interesting... the same thing happend to my mirror that you describe (lower corner would no longer dim) BUT I never used anything other than damp cloths to clean anything in my car. I think the dealer was the only other person to "clean" the inside of my car and I would be surprised if they used armorall or something similar.

At any rate... my dealer replaced mine no questions asked, so im sure yours will too.
