I want to replace the retarded "warmer" for something else that is pretty much the same thing but much more low profile and the input/output are pointing straight forward towards the radiator where most people mount their external transmission coolers and fans.
Here is my question. So far I have only found one place that sells this adapter and I feel that the price is awfully high. I mean, I used to work with lathes, mills, TIG welders, everything that I would need to make just about everything. That company was bought out by a bigger company and so I no long have access to that stuff. Huge bummer. But what I'm saying is that I could make10 or 15 of these in a couple of hours. And I would happily sell them for virtually nothing to you guys just as a good will guesture. That's not the case there. This adapter is $370 bucks at some places and the cheapest is $290.
Do any of you know of a cheaper price, or perhaps you have access to basic machinery?

Like yourself, I can't find anyone lower than the ebay knock-off at $222.75.
Just an FYI, I can understand why one would want to remove the 'warmer' prior to installing an ATF cooler; however, (back in the day) when the CompTech ATF cooler was all the 'rage' here
their installation instructions showed the connections as seen below for the 01-03 CL-S, which included longer atf hose lengths because attachment was at the Pipe B (ATF) top red arrow & Pipe A (ATF) bottom red arrow.
There were two Pipe A (ATF) available depending on if the band-aid 'oil jet' kit was installed, though the connection point was similar.
As you can see below the purple arrow is indicating where the (ATF) Warmer would live.
In fact, the used 03 CL-S automatic, I purchased in 2019, has the CTE atf cooler above installed with these exact connection points and it is pushing probably 22+ years of service now.
The only issue I have had to deal with is slight residual ATF leaking at the two vertical connectors on the atf cooler itself.
I just cut about an inch off both ends of the 22 year old ATF hose and clamped them down, it's all good with no leak.
What brand of ATF cooler did you have in mind to install if you went with the universal external cooler adapter?
Yeah, I picked up the jet kit from various junkyards and plan on using it. I hope (It seems like it should) help keep temps down to 180 to 200 for the most part. Yay!!
I hate to piss money away.. Unless I can find a friend who has access to a mill or at least a drill press, I'll just use the stock ugly fuckin' warmer.
And like you posted, I can get a small tranny radiator cooler that will work perfectly fine with hoses that are wrapped around.

Edit I'm also definitely getting a nice little fan too.. This should make a big difference.
