Wanna Race? (PICS)

I just got back from checking up on my ride and was able to snap a photo, I think you guys are the only people I know that would care to see it. So here goes! BTW I should have a dyno sheet to scan by next week, it should be interesting. Comments welcomed.

I think if you are gonna paint that lower part of the engine cover blue, you should paint the other piece also

They were from seperate engine cover designs as I have had one accident. They are to be painted with everything else in the coming months. But thanks for the opinion.

holy direct port batman!

well, at least you had more luck with your NX kit than I.

fuckin' shitty NX kit just blew up on me on my first fill up, never got a chance to run it. I sure hope you have better luck with yours.

has your hood been raised above the engine to make room for the DP?

Right, it was an unexpected set back but that is how these type of things seem to go. Had to send the hood to a body shop and the guys there seem to being doing a good job. The piranna nozzles and plumbing woudn't clear with the stock deminsions of the hood. I had the purge split into two hard lines and plumbed up to where the hood meets the windshield on each side and it sprays up and out to each side at an angle. Looks pretty tough. One nice side effect of the hood set back was that the same guys rolled all four of my fenders too. No more rubbing!

sure does...let me ask this couldnt you hve got that plumbing to lay right on the plenum cover instead of "hoovering " over it and maintained enough clearance for the stock hood?

dashmo: direct port puts nitrous+fuel (for this NX kit at least) straight into the combustion chambers to be swirled in with everything else perfectly instead of through the intake like in most other kits.

hmm...i just thought of something. if you're having you're hood raised...would that mean you would have enough clearance for the tein edfc? that would be nice

Excellent work and exactly what I had always envisioned for DP system on the CL-S.

I was wondering about that.. as well. I am not sure if anyone else has ran DP yet. The only differnece is the brand of the kits, and the installers.
Type R: But maybe the NOS system, the type he used, didn't need the clearence. Or maybe the install could have been done differently. For one I wanted a clear looking install for show look. I thought it was odd that we had to machine the way we did, but we did try a number of things, even 90 degree nozzels. It is only the front pirannnas that prevented closing of the hood. I have it setup to squeeze juice only on WOT and when rpms are above 2500. I am curious to see the A/F ratios and curves to see if maybe the juice needs to be shut off during the VTEC swtich over at around 5K and then come back on again after 5.5K or something if it leans out there with just a higher boost pulley?? We'll see, it should be interesting.

Thanks Scalbert, coming from you, that is a nice compliment. Keep me abreast of anymore evolution in our boost machines.

hopefully acura will still warranty the tranny. if you drive it hard i bet you'll waste a trans every 10k or so.

it's so worth it for the cool factor though.

U shouldn't have to worry about VTEC engagement vs A/F ratios. The engine has a tendency to richen when VTEC is engaged.

if he can drop that much loot on a new hood, SC and DP, then im sure he can afford a 6-speed swap if his auto trans does die.

Great work man!! Show us pics of the hood when its completed

But wasn't that the range on the auto that comptech is having problem with the ecu pulling the timing? Someone please comment on the understanding of the possibilty and cause for detonation with a boosted cl. I though that was the range in the rpms where it leans out and the ECU won't correct the fuel load. Anyone with more of an understanding?

CrazySellout: Thanks for props, I checked out your Bimmer man and you sure have a sweet looking ride. Nice and clean. Those two skirts don't happen to come with a ride like that do they? Or do girls like that just seem to congregate around it when it slows down enough for them to catch up?
