Seems to be a string of these threads lately. I had one recently. Actually it was started by ghost_master. A member by the name of Night Rider (I think) had a theroy about the ECU causing it. Do you notice it ALL the time or only sometimes? Mine was only from time to time but something was definitely not functioning properly. It seems to have corrected it self since then. Try searching for that thread. It's probably only 3 pages back or so.

wouldnt put much weigth into the ECU therory it is entirely RPM based and oil pressure acctuated

1-- Pop hood
2-- Start car
3-- Have someone rev motor oir pull throttle cable.
4-- Watch actuator mechanism turn or not turn.

Snaps's Actuator went out on the Auto CLS, and it was a night and day difference when the VTEC changeover occured. Now, the car still changed over to the VTEC Lobes with the actuator not functioning, but after he had the new working one installed, the car pulled so much harder. Without the actuator, driving a Type-S is like driving a Premium model (no offense of course to the Premium owners), just making the comparison.

just to be clear the acctuator and vtec engagement are two different things...but if the IMRC fails it will have a noticable affect on high RPM performance...next if it were low oil presuure from low oil level your car should fuel cut at around 4800 ROM when trying to make the hi lobe change over

report the results this in its earliest stages will only be present from a 1st gear straight line acceleration or when making a turn
