Shortyly after I start driving my car, both, the (VSA) and indicator(!) lights stay on. Any idea why this has happened and what I can do?

GOTO autozone or pep boys, they'll read the code for you..and can also erase it...however depending on what the code is...if say you're gonna goto the dealer about it...dont earse it...after a few cold starts if the problem is no longer occurring the lights will go out ,but the code will still be stored...

did you do anything before this happened?

This is telling you the VSA is deactivated. Check to see you didn't hit the VSA switch on the dash. Otherwise I think you need to have it checked out.

same problem

I am going through the same problem right now. My engine monitoring light is lit while the vsa comes on frequently and stays on. I am taking it in this week end to get checked out. My 2003 cl-s is have rough and sparatic shifting after starting in the cold mornings. I hope its not a tranny problem. I am still on my first.

Happens sometimes when random codes are thrown. When my primary O2 sensor died the VSA and "!" lights were on in addition to the CEL. Have the code scanned.

Alright... I took it into Acura this morning for the type 4 maintainence and they told me that there is a malfunction in the steering column sensor and the sensor for the left rear wheel. They need to run a 1hr diagnostic on my CL-S to pin-point the problem (wiring or computer??) NE ways I'm scheduling an appointment for next wed, if you have any further advice let me know.

I don't know about that, but keep us informed. I get that same light combo quite often and it is usualy associated with a P1701 code or transmission shift pack malfucntion or tranny sensor malfunction.

Here's my experience with the ! and VSA lights with the CEL.

When it was the transmssion the D5 and D4 lights also were flashing.

The last time it happened it pulled 3 codes: Primary O2 Sensor, Lateral G Sensor, and ECM Relation Failure.

They did all sorts of diagnosis on the later two problems while they were waiting for the O2 sensor to be delievered. Once the O2 sensor was installed the other two codes went away as well. This isn't the first time I've heard of this happening either.

I had this same issue last week, and took the car in. It was the O2 sensor in my case, which was the culprit.
