Hello All. My name is Adam. I am new on this forum. I've had my car for about 8 monthes. its a 2001 White/Ebony CL type S. I have AEM CAI, and OBX RACING HEADERS. I am about to purchase some new cat back exhuast. I am more confused on this mod.

I am debating between the APEXi WS 2 for $589, or the GReddy EVO 2 for $799. If anyone can help, i am wondering:

1. Sound of both cars at IDLE
2. Sound of both cars cruising, which is loud, which sounds stock
3. Which has more hp gains
4. Which looks stock

If anyone can help, please do. i will check back later. thanks all.

 

well, the Greddy definitely does not look stock.

 

Hi Adam, question 3 is the only one I can answer.

Any aftermarket exhaust system you buy for your CL-S will give you at most 2hp. The stock exhaust piping & mufflers are very efficient. In other words, don't buy the exhaust if you're doing it to get more power - it's not gonna happen!

thanks guys. im not doin it for gains, i just wanna see which one would give me more. do you guys the greddy is worth spending $200+ on?

I prefer the Apex'i's, but that's cause i'm a bit biased. =P.

In honesty, neither of them look even close to stock. The apex'i tips are pretty huge w/ a big canister, and the Greddy's are even huger with no canister. They both look pretty pimp though. I say get the greddy's. The apex'i canisters get rock dents kinda easy =/ but I still love 'em.

The Greddys are louder. the Apx's are almost close to stock. you can hear the drone, but it's subtle. that's what I like about 'em.

If you want to get a good sorta stock look, look into Comptechs, or magnamuff mufflers, which are basically slightly larger comptechs.

I have the greddy's and i love the way they sound, like a beefier G35....

 

droning sucks. i'm about to pull the hks off and go back stock.

 

That is exactly how i want mine to sound. like a g35/350z, but i want it to be a lil stronger. Wow that would be SICK.

i dont know much about the apexi's or the greddy exhaust, but what i have on my car are Remus mufflers. they work great and they have the stock oval look to them. on my cls i have haeders and straight 2.5in pipe to the remus and they sound deep, i love it

 

I personally would go with the Greddy....Mainly because it doesn't sound too ricey plus it has a good humm to it also..when in idle and when driving around it sounds very aggressive... The gains are about the same...if your looking for the best gains I would personally consider Comptech, which is what I have and I'm completely satisfied...

 

i just wanna know if spending 200+ dollars on the GReddy is worth getting over the APEXi ws 2

 

How about Neuspeed? I like the way those look too. As for gains, it's really not that much anyways.

 

they discontinued neuspeed for our cars. no more for cl. if u know where i can find em, let me know.

 

look for used greddys....and sorry i don't have clips of the sound....but they sound sick man...along with the headers they give a slightly deeper hmmmmm....

 

I Just Seen Comptechs For Sale On Some Website Only For 629. Dunno Which Is The Best For Me. I Want One That Sounds Nice And Mean When Im Driving. Like A G35-350z But Stronger. Which Should I Get????? Help

You're nuts. You should maybe look into getting an American V8.

 

lol. seriously, with my i/h, my car is loud as hell especailly into vtec, look into vipers dude. but yeah thanks for help guys
