Safety Car
Already??? Should not need adjusting untill 105,000 miles! If they do, it should be covered under the regular or emmision control warranty.

Well a valve tap sound more like a cliking noise that is somewhat consistent in the timing of the clicks even when you rev the engine. A rod knock sounds more like a tapping sound that speeds up when you rev the engine more noticeably. Jens may be able to give you a better explanation It might just be your valve lifters need a bit of tweaking. how many miles do you have? I have a Lexus GS300 I had a rod knock in it from an extended period of 100+ mph from jersey to South Beach Miami. Then again I ran it like an idiot for over 4 hours non-stop WOT. Hoping you didnt make an ridiculous trips like that recently....? Id take it in have Acura take a look

It ticks after you turn off the engine?? If it "ticks" once the engine halts completely thats most likely just the metal components cooling and contracting again. If its as the engine throttles down after you turn off the ignition ... then unless it really loud your probably hearing the valves and the lifters better w/o the engine and exhaust noise......

I wouldnt be overly worried , have it looked into the next time your car needs an oil change or service Unless the condition becomes louder or worsens ofcourse !
