V1 straight power cord question

The little clip that plugs into the main unit broke this morning. Looking on the V1 website, I don't see anything telling me about the cord. Is it just a simple phone cord??? Nothing special? Or do I have to order one from the V1 website?

It's TEN bucks, not including shipping!!! Just for what seems like a simple 8 foot telephone line...

Thanks!

Funny you bring this up right now. Mine just broke too.
I had it off to clean the window over the weekend and that little tab broke off after catching on something.
It still works, but there’s nothing to hold the connector in securely.

I’m pretty sure it’s just a phone connector that you can buy at Radio Shack.
I checked a RS catalog that I have here in the office and they’re (10) for 2.99
You’re supposed to use some kind of crimping tool to connect them, but I’ll find a way to do it without one.

I'd rather just replace the whole cord instead of having to worry about crimping an end on... I'm gonna give a call to V1 headquarters and see what's up.

shawn, the crimping tool for those phone jacks are soo cheap, they are at radio shack as well (i just had to create a different phone cord for my apartment with one of those) its a decent tool and its small and cheap as hell, in fact, i bought the tool in a package that came with 5 of the phone connectors like you are describing...honestly, it would be kinda hard to do it neatly and correctly without the tool.

You gotta love the people at Valentine1... Just called to ask if there is anything special about the cord.

"Nope, it's just a wall-to-phone cord. But, you're still under warranty, so we'll send you a new one. No charge..."

I told her to save their money because it's a just a two dollar cord, but she insisted on sending me a new one!!!

That’s cool.

BTW....The crimping tool is 9.99 at RS.

If you still have a warranty, they'll replace it, no questions asked.

Yeah, that's the funniest thing... They're sending me a new cord, and sending a pre-paid envelop to send the old one back in. All this for a little $2 wall-to-phone cord.
