Ok almost out of New York, Three more days to go. Trying to stay clean and not have my parents flip out on me before I leave. Took my dad's V-1 in the car last couple weeks cause I have been doing a lot of driving and also just wanted to test it out before I bought one for my CL in Arizona. Anyhow story goes I'm driving down US-1 in NY at about 12:45am. Coming home from someone's house. US-1 is a two lane road but freakin 30 MPH zone. Such Shit. Anyhow I get along side a 98 V8 jeep with some punk kids in the car at about 25MPH he started to take off and I killed him to 70 so bad he just gave up. So I continue to cruise at about 75 MPH no traffic almost 1am. All of a sudden V-1 Goes off. Downshift to 2nd (bad for car but oh well.) (Alero V6 light mods.) hit brakes and go by a cop that was about 1/4 mile ahead at 40. Nothing happen. That saved my ass cause 75-80 in a 30 would have changed my dad's mind about letting my get a faster car 3000 miles away. This is def. going in my Acura.

I would love to get the v1 but, just too big for me to conceal in VA. I just ordered my escort 8500 and the SmartCord-Direct Wire
that has the volume and controls that can be wired inbetween the seat heater controls.
My radar will sit in the cornerof my driver side visor behind the tint.

Eric, i tried you on another post but you didn't reply, my question is where are you getting your V1 hard wired. I just got mine and was looking for some info. Where are you going to put it, i like the advice i've gotten to put it on the passenger side and use the remote for the warnings. Just curious, thanks.

I'm being a "chicken" and having an installer that did another members car do the install.

They put the V1 on the passenger side of the rear-view mirror (wish I had paid more attention at the time). I am supposed to get a call back in the next few days.

The "remote" was put above the steering column.

I made an appointment -- and part of me thinks that this wouldn't be that hard to do.

I'll know more on Monday/Tuesday -- I'll be talking with the member with the install I liked!
