I would be careful .. I've heard these pulleys could underdrive the alternator and cause it to not put out as much voltage as it normally would, and with a system like that robbing power from your electronic system, you could start running into problems.

Not to mention you would have that annoying problem that I hate seeing on cars when their exterior lights at night blink and dim when the bass hits .. eww

But on another note .. I was actually about to put in that EXACT system this week, but was deciding if I should go with 10w3v2's or 12's. How do you like the subs? I was going to do either one of those 10's or one of those 12's, also on a 500/1 that I already have. Does it get deep? Clear? Tight?

i love the set-up...i didn't want to go with 12" cause the 10" are plenty loud. I cannot empahsize how important it is to get a box that is built to JL specs...my box fits perfectly right now and i can still access the spare tire

the subs are very clear and the deep notes hit nicely...i am gonna get a bass controller though

i ahev the stock HU in right now. I am not sure if i want to change the HU because it is such a pain in the a$$ to find a good fit

Capacitors don't really do anything .. I researched that 2 years ago when I installed a huge system in my Explorer .. guy that runs the general audio forum over on Carsound.com by the name of Richard Clark did a huge post explaining how its physically impossible that cap's actually do anything to stabilize voltage.

As for the HU Hobes, I am definetly never changing out the stock head unit. I love the 6 disc in dash way too much, and love the stock appearance. Although I will probably add a full system eventually with all JL speakers to replace the factory bose, and a 300/4 JL to power them .. with a JL sub in a JL built box and JL 500/1.

I know caps don't make a big differene but it will not allow the lights to dim as much when the bASS hits. thats about all he needs cause our alternators put out plenty of amperage. Plus the UR alternator pulley isn't smaller than stock...just lighter. So the actual only underdrive pulley is the crank pulley.

what about a optima battery?

also, what gains are expected without the crank pulley and just the other two

w/o the crank pulley...no gains. Maybe 1-2 hp. Optima battery...excellent choice. but trust me...w/ the set-up ur gonna be running you'll be fine

my issue is that i don't really want a cap...do i really need one?

my issue is this really...at night i have my HID on, my HID fogs on, and my system...with all this and pulleys the last thing i want is a rhythmic dimming of my lights

so are you suggesting a cap and battery or just one of those two
