UR Pulleys vs AEM Pulleys
Just wanted to know what you guys thought about the unorthodox racing pulleys, i heard you get some nice gains with them but something about how they throw of the harmonic balance? Is that true and what exactly does it mean.
Or is it just worth it to get regular AEM Pulleys?

yes... harmonic balance is something yo udefinetely need to have... engine parts rotate very fast and harmonic balance basically is like wheel weights... it keeps things rotating perfectly so that small changes don't happen and cause things to break or come flying off... UR pulleys have been shown to make trmendous gains but I'm not sure if you want to risk it. I'd say don't waste money on pulleys... there's plenty of power out there to find using other methods...
well i had a AEM and now UR.... well i can tell you is, there is not too much of a gain from AEM to UR, cuz AEM is already light weight, and UR just light up a little more... so gain wont be too impressive..... BUTTT...... if you never had a pulley at all, from stock to UR, the gain will be pretty impressive... at least you see different in 4th when our tall gear ratio kicks in....
about UR, i had UR for more than 6 years. i had them on my 96 SER, from running 15.3 to 13.3..... all these times, it never failed me, i have strong confidence with UR products.... now when it comes to some taiwan made product, i dunno, but UR is definite answer to our car... BTW, it dynoed to produce 12hps at the wheel on a J30.... so on a J32 should be a little more..... so i think that is pretty much the best bang for the bucks....

UR Pulleys
Have you guys heard anything about the water-pump or oil-pump giving problems with extended use of these pulleys??
Also... how's the install work? Do you have to lift the side of
the motor to put it in?

??????
Does AEM even make a CRANK PULLEY for our cars, I know that UR does. I have the AEM underdrive pulleys myself. With the stock crank pulley. With pulleys you notice a quicker throttle response, at least.
Confused now...
Which pulleys are you guys talking about?
(1) Main crank pulley
(2) Alternator Pulley, AC Pulley, blah, blah, blah
The main pulley has grooves for multiple belts.
When you refer to THE AEM PULLEY, or UR PULLEY, are you referring to the main crank pulley??

not sure i have stock pulleys right now. I only heard about throwing off the harmonic balance in our engine not with a ser or any other car.
Just wanted to know if anyone has had any problems with their ur pulleys or if anyone has pulleys and is happy with what they got and want to share it with us.

Ive had my UR pulleys, all three package, and I have no problems for three months.. Runs great, quicker off the line, light, and more.
Get them. Dont waste your time thinking if you should get them.

in a nutshell-
aem pulleys- look pretty, no gains, possible alternator(charging) problems.
ur pulleys - real gains, look pretty, possible crank vibration issues.
we will see, i prolly have 3000 miles on mine. if anyone is going to break their motor it's gonna be me. so we'll just have to see.
