UR Pulley Install. Finally.

This afternoon I received it, and by 5 it was installed. The difference isn't like night and day but it's noticeable. Revs a bit quicker and pulls harder. I like it. Good mod. And I probably never would've known about it if not for all you guys, so thanks guys!

check the tension of the belts. Maybe spray a bit of belt dressing?

Nope, but I only have the crank pulley. You could always hit it up with belt dressing and see what happens.

hey where is your friends shop and how much will he charge me? i bought the 3 pc stock size and was only able to get the power steering and alt. on there. so all i need is just the crank (stock size) to be installed.

Haha honestly he'd probably charge you too much. if you're mechanically inclined why don't you rent an impact gun and a compressor? it'd probly be cheaper to be honest. but if you want i can give you the address and most likely it'd be around 90. give or take.

Yeah I have some squealing sounds too seems to get louder as I rev higher but only to a certain extent upon which my motor and exhaust just overtake it. It makes some sort of bird call noise, doesn't really bother me too much since some people think im supercharged as a result, yeah I know lame but some people just don't know better. I think its the belt tension I had to get a 4060460 per part catalog but when i called Goodyear about it being to tight they told me that they updated their info and they now recomend a 4060465 for the serpentine belt.

I got the Gates belts and it sounds fine. What is making noise is the headers. And it's getting annoying. We replaced the flex pipe and it got worse. So now my car sounds like a vacuum when i accelerate until VTEC hits.

If your in So Cal I can do it for you for like $75, the biggest hassle is just getting the belts on, at least for me, otherwise it would probably be the crank pulley for someone else.

I'd say that's a better deal ^ but if you want to go to my friends shop the number is (626)-797-1194. it's in pasadena. 134 freeway, exit fair oaks ave(north) and it's on the corner of howard and fair oaks. i can probably have him bring down the price, but no promises. good luck with whatever you decide man! you'll feel the difference!

do you have a big bertha? can i borrow it? really all i need is the 3/4 impact gun (in theory)...but can't justify buying one when i can get it installed for much less.

About 2 hours. But they were busy so they were doing it on and off, and me being a friend I didn't mind. But it shouldn't take that long for you if you get there early. They don't get too much work until about 9 or 9:30.

Nope, managed to get it done with a lug nut wrench and a long pipe

Yeah, I know the feeling, if you use anything with joints or extensions it gets worse, when I use the lug nut wrench and a pipe everything is pretty mucha one piece unit, the two together reall ydont have much slack at all which is great because your not risking the chance of losing all that torque and beak some tools etc.

thanks eric. took it to them this morn and got it handled. cool group of guys there. probably gonna have them do a custom 2.5 b-pipe for me this weekend. as for the update on the 3pc pulley stock size-i don't really notice anything substantial yet... but i also haven't floored it yet either. i don't know, maybe it's because it's stock size but from what i understand it should produce the same hp minus 1 or 2 horses. anyway thanks again for the connection.

does the pulley come with a step by step installation booklet or something? i've searched for a DIY on here but keep getting tons of pulley threads with no step by step instructions, if someone can point me in the right direction that would be great. thanks!

no problem man. glad everything went smooth. and i think it takes a couple days to feel the difference but i always reset the ecu after i do a mod so i dunno. maybe i'm doing it the right way or the lazy way. but anywho, about the exhaust, if you want to take a look at my exhaust you can stop by tomorrow anytime before 3, so you can see what yours will look like. it's crazy how good walter is at it. he just measures it with his eyes and it comes out perfect. curves, bends and even the y-pipe. so you'll definitely be happy with it.

I'm going to add to this. I'm in the club now. Had the crank pulley installed this afternoon. Only been sitting in my trunk for 3 months.

WOW. The car pulls so hard 1-3 now. This is a must have mod!
BTW I used the option racing pulley on Ebay for $24 & 2 gates belts.
I had a UR pulley from a friend to compare & besides it looking a tad different, It was the same weight & installed the same.
No new vibrations or noises.

I concur. I installed my crank pulley about a year ago and even though mine is a slushbox auto still pulls hard after 3.5K RPM's.

Ditto. I know it's not the same feeling on an auto but ehh, it's a good difference in revs and thats good enough.
