update prototype headers

looks like there's not gonna be a 6 speed prototype header. It was designed for use in the automatics only. I e-mailed Edmun, the guy who's trying to find a manufacturer for the header. you can e-mail him at edmun@attbi.com .

civic4982,
Thank you for your patience.
The v6 headers is designed for automatics on CL.

Currently, we are trying to get a manufacturer that could produce it inexpensively. As you see in the design, it is a complex design, however provide a lot more horsepower than any deaders today.

As soon as we have the manufacturer to produce at a cost that is reasonable, we will go ahead and producce the headers thus, we will pass the savings to you.
Otherwise, it is a very expensive headers. We want to make sure that
customers benefit from getting it at a reasonable price.

Thanks.
Edmun

I sent him another e-mail letting him know a redesign was necessary to get the most profit from their business ventures since the 6 speed header will fit both the 6 speed as well as the automatic. His reply was that it would require a complete redesign and was not in their plans right now.

Maybe if enough of us 6 speeders show interest they'll give us some headers. e-mail him to let him know we're all watiing for these headers to come out.

That's too bad. The design looks good and the theory makes sense.

He says it'll be expensive. I wonder what that means. On the website the Comptech is listed as a 'cheap' aftermarket header.

If you read the text of the web site, they also imply that they won't be getting CARB approved either.

Expensive and no CARB. Sounds like Comptech is still the best way to go.

I’ve been saying this for the last few months.

Before I bought my Comptech’s I was in contact with Joe at Prototype and actually put him together with one of our California members for a “test fit” on the car.
It didn’t fit by a longshot.

If you look at the Prototype design and at what Comptech had to do for the 6-Speed you will understand why they will never fit.
Where Comptech “bent” the one pipe for clearance the Prototype design has a large flange in the way.
That’s why I went with the Comptech’s because Prototype is not going to redesign just for the 6-Speed.
