update on chip!!
Smitty - Thanks bro
Now that I'm no longer a starving grad student, I have more time and money to mod my car! I gotta enjoy it before tying the knot (2yrs or so).
When I get a stock wheel I will try it on asap. I'm thinking 3-5mm spacer is probably needed. And don't forget, allmotor_2000 & I are looking into cams also...see the other thread I started.
scalbert - Sorry Steve, don't know anyone else local that has the 6sp S/C.

There is one more thing that this thing can do that alot of us want and are willing to pay $600. It is the ability to adjust timing. The 10-25 extra HP is just the dessert of a main course meal. Being able to boost 9.5-10PSI by retarding the timing is the main course. Easily 400 to the wheels.

Yea thats true. So go ahead and spend another $500 and get urself an N2O kit and throw a 100 shot on. Now u can retard the ignition, say 4 degrees, and safely spray a 100 shot.Juker008
This chip isn't coming anyway as they have been saying they would have a chip for the V6's last year.
Opak's full of it and I'll believe it when I see it.
If it is ever released I'll be first in line to buy it.

Just a question, wouldn't putting 400 WHP down be a bit strenuous on the motor- at least for everyday driving? I remember reading somewhere that you shouldn't go over 150% of what your motor puts down, so say the CL-S puts down 200 WHP, just for numbers sake, then you shouldn't go over 350 WHP...right?

But the amount depends on the motor its self. We don't know about the internals of the J series motor because historically the transaxle would fail first. But I suspect we will soon find out how reliably the J32A2 can handle nearly 500 crank HP.

Yes 400WHP is too much for everyday use. I was refering to track setup. To run 400WHP daily would cost a pretty penny due to the ammount of 103 octane that would be required to run that kind of power. 400 would work for daily driving but there would be a large ammount of durability taken away. I honstly feel that 350WHP should be the max that should be used for daily driving.

OK then, if they are using the UniChip why don't we just get one and start this off on our own. The wiring harness is easy if we had the connectors and I think those can be had.
Outside of that, we can make our own program maps and disribute to all interested.

I don't blame people to be sceptical about this...especially since it is delayed now until December.

- Yesterday it was mid-October....man, that's a bummer.
scalbert - I think you just did.
Too bad you're not in cali so I could have tried to help you out.
mc222 - 2 wks ago I was told 3 wks or so, and he would be ready. Now, they just finished the RSX ECU and is going to wait till December for ours at the EARLIST.

Will it fit a TL or TL-S.... Or is it just for the CL... How many WHP will it give for a TL-S with H/I.... How much will the unit cost.. Will it give us low-end torque... That is what im looking for but I dont want to get a supercharger....
Also do you think there will be some problems down the road, say 3 4 5 yrs from now...

Let's hope someone with the 6sp steps up.
