Not 10 - 15 HP over the entire range, that would a decreasing torque curve. Say, 10 - 15 lb/ft over the entire ban and what it looks close to on that chart.

But by looking at what the HP was at a certain RPM you can detemine the torque:

HP = (RPM / 5252) * Torque

or

Torque = HP / (RPM / 5252)

ok , but why would a 10-15 hp increase over the entire range cause a decreasing torque curve?

Lets say the curve was already flat with a consistant 200 lb/ft across the entire band. Then the a device is added which gives 15 HP gain across the band. At 2626 RPM that 15 HP gain would equate to 30 lb/ft gain or 230 lb/ft. At 5252 RPM that 15 HP gain is 15 lb/ft or 215 lb/ft total.

That is a decrease slope...

Good idea. You should have headers first with the chip anyway.

Yes, a consitant increase in torque is nice. The HP differential will increase with RPMs.

I purchased the GReddy E-Manage because I have the Comptech supercharger kit. The harness is the right one, as long as you have all 4 plugs. I don't need all 4 plugs for the e-manage, but I'm not sure what the Unichip wiring is like.

Give them a call, 866-643-7400, and ask for Tony or Jack. They may be on their way to SEMA though. They may refer you to one of their dealers.

Yes I'll help you put it in.

soon as a 6 speed version comes out with numbers (i.e. price w/ harness + dyno) I'm on board. Will this be any good with my nitrous?

As soon as we get enough interest to have the P&P and a group buy, I'm in as soon as something gets going..

I should get more dyno numbers by next Friday. Mod is right, they are on their way to SEMA next week.

Also, I thought you guys wanted to wait to see what happens with the Vtec control unit and see the result from that??

I have no concerns on the VTec results, it would be a bonus but I can't imagine seeing the results being that much greater. I think most people are waiting to see if it's PlugnPlay to avoid any warranty issues and/or any splicing of the ECU.

To everyone who keeps asking about the plug n play check out http://www.locashracing.com/main.htm as mentioned on the last page by Modaddict. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this will allow installation without cutting the factory wiring.

CLS2001_97124 has there been any progress finding an I/H/E 6 speed for them to develop a map on? I'll buy one once we can get a specific map for the 6 speed. Am I correct in assuming the one for the auto would work but maybe not as well as a specific application?

That is correct JT, I just did so with the E-Manage. You would wire the Unichip to the straigt thru harness from locash, and you've got plug and play. Just make sure you get the straight thru harness with all of the correct connectors for your aplication

That is correct. They said the map for the auto should work for manual, but they just think that they can get a bit more out of it.

I think I will do this also if they decide not to do the P&P harness.

In addition, this is only for the 5AT. There currently isn't an application for the 6-Speed.

You woud tap, or splice, a dozen wires, or so, from the Unichip , into the harness. Disconnect the battery, unplug the four connectors from the ECU, and plug them into the harness, then plug the harness into the ECU. Reconnect the battery, and away you go.

Here is a quick run down between Matt and I's test runs on Saturday.

CLS vs CLS

Matt's car is damn fast... I've raced against other CLS before, I could take them just fine.. but not Matt's.

Perfect....
I guess the question then is, when will dyno's be out and when will the group buy be set up? If they don't offer the plugnplay then maybe we can set up a groupbuy for the harness.

I didn't... I'm actually quite happy with the result based on weight and Moddification difference.. Just imagine if Matt had the chip. The chip will probably make even more noticable difference on a car like Matt's.
