I've never seen UniChip make a chip for our 6-speeds...probably Greddy E-manage, or AEM stand alone.

Ex...do it...there might be a lot of members that would go through if you did.
Is it really that much? I found a dyno sheet from CT that shows a 1999 TL, http://www.comptechusa.com/store/med...1999TLplot.pdf and I know we have the same engine/transmission.

edit: than again I notice the dyno goes up to 6750, CL-P redline is 6250... did they just go past redline on the dyno? I wouldn't think so since their obviously isn't any gains past redline....

They had to of passed redline...the guys who tuned my car did

But it really all depends on air temp, barometric pressure, what altitude your at...when it comes to seeing realistic numbers.

No, I meant that there has been people with CL-S autos that were chipped but I've never seen any 6-speeds chipped with UniChip.

www.ebay.com
www.nopionline.com
www.excelerateperformance.com
www.comptech.com
www.aem.com

The 99 TL only made 200hp. THey made some changes in 2000 to the motor which then made 225hp.

The "redline" is at 6300 RPM, but the fuel cut-off is at 6600 RPM for teh J32A1.

I would get the Unichip if it were available for the CLS6mt. I dont understand the figures for the acura CL dyno on the Unichip site. they are way to high.

UniChip does not make a chip for the 6-Speed.

EDIT: But take your car down to UniChip in Portland, Oregon and have them make you one so other 6-speeders can have them too

That's what I thought aswell, but this article from Motor Trend says different, http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...99_acura_32tl/

I'm an idiot. MT is right, it does make 225. Acura made some changes to the motor though that changed the power curve.

You have to remember that it is only a high revving four banger a lot of horsepower but with no torque. It's hard to launch a S2K without proper lauch technique.

CLs are big bitches though. It may get off the line just a hair quicker (type-S) but the S2K will catch up eventually. Check out the qtr mile numbers for 2004 S2K. 14.19 quarter mile (from Motor Trend)

While front-wheel drive will never be the optimum drive configuration for a performance car, the CL Type-S with the six-speed does its best to compensate. It's certainly fast enough to humble most sport coupes. During instrumented testing, our test car went from 0 to 60 mph in 6.4 seconds and cleared the quarter-mile in 15.0 seconds at 95.2 mph (Edmunds.com, Inside Line Follow up).

I think the quarter mile time on the S2K is a bit overrated, all in all I think it is overrated in general, I have acquaintances that think it weighs 2100lbs and can hang with Z06's. Honestly, my bud raced a 03 Mustang GT, both stock btw and got his handed to him in the quarter mile. Motor Trend says the 1999 Mustang GT is a 14sec car, http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...rd_mustang_gt/

Good news, just bought a CL-S upper and lower intake manifold from ThinJim. I need a few extra parts and I'll have to get my car tuned again on the Dyno, (bummer).

Almost no difference.

And you didn't need the lowers, the J32A1 in the CL used the same lowers as the J32A2 lowers.

it was sold all as one piece...

EDIT: even with the RPM switch and the BVA installed too?...hmmm

The inlet is mildly ported though. I'll do another dyno once everything is pieced together.
